Hi I've done the Photomotherf**kers fix in Google chrome, so I can see all the pics in this thread which makes it easier for me to edit this thread and replace all the lost photos. Can someone just confirm that they can see all the pics on the first page of this thread please ? Then I will work my way through and reinstate all of them. Thanks Dusty

Cheers, bit of a slog but I will get there. Being able to see all the pics through Google chrome has spurred me on as I don't need to read all the text to work out what pics should be inserted, so should be quicker. Eventually I will redo all my threads, and might even add the Ypvs engine build thread too Dusty

Your a trooper dusty This thread needs saving Better than Hayes manual Carl I totally agree that this thread needs saving, could the mods make it a 'sticky' one or at least just the pictures/info from Dusty?

Cheers Up to page 7 now - it's taking ages. I've added a couple of pics too - hadn't realised I missed out pics to the idler gear fitment, so added those now, plus I'm adding a list of common part numbers at the end of the thread so peeps don't have to trawl through pages trying to find them, so as well as reinstating the pics, it's getting an overhaul ! It is missing a few pics that other members added, mainly concerning piston skirt damage from leaving the tang on Ypvs pistons, so if you added pics before, it would be great if you can update them for others to see Cheers Dusty

Hi Morgy Totally agree with that To add regards the oil pump. I was keen to use he autolube on this build, so the pump went off to Gary - "arrow" - the oil pump expert. As always, the pump came back looking better than new; 20170413_112309_zps9pol1ogg by David Miller, on Flickr And the new gasket for the pump body, plus the shim for the end of the pump shaft; 20170513_101344 by David Miller, on Flickr Dusty

With regards to gearbox bearings, a forum member asked if I had the numbers off the sides of the bearings as he wanted to try and source them from a bearing supplier. I know members have mentioned in the past that they have managed to source bearings other than from Yamaha, saving a fair bit in the process. I still had the old geabox bearings, so thought I would post the info for all so you could try someone like Simply Bearings to see if they could supply cheaper than Yamaha. 20171104_095124 by David Miller, on Flickr Pretty sure it was only the top left bearing that was difficult to find elsewhere due to the circlip groove that runs around it's circumference, but I think even that one may have been sourced ?? It would be good to hear if anyone has found them cheaper than Yamaha. Dusty

Good work Dusty. The top left bearing is the input shaft bearing behind the clutch, which is a double row bearing, hence the thickness. I wouldn't have thought that too many manufactures will make such a specific bearing, but someone will know

The left side casing was missing the spacer in the gear shaft hole. After measuring I bought a needle roller bearing from Simply bearings to solve the problem. I wanted it to be a tight fit, and had to use my dremmel with a circular sanding attachment to remove some alloy from inside the hole. Doing it a little at a time so as to not make the hole too big - I managed to get the bearing in - a nice tight fit and aligned for the shaft to give support; 20170311_123957 by David Miller, on Flickr Dusty Dusty, great work as ever Mate, Do you by chance have the i/d & 0/d dimensions for the Bearing please?. Thanks in advance, bezzer.

Hi Bezzer I will have to see if I've got a receipt anywhere. Cant remember the dims to be honest. I pressed the old bush out of the case and measured the hole, both for internal diameter and depth, and then measured the diameter of the gear change shaft, all with a digital Vernier. I then went onto the Simply Bearings website and found a bearing with the correct dims. Was only about 5 or 6 quid I think. I had to file the hole in the case a bit to press the bearing home as it needs to be a tight fit. The bearing I bought sits under flush so I can use a small rubber seal on the outer face of the case to keep crud out. Dusty
