I know it's been 5 years but jeez! There were black mould spots everywhere. Even under the tank on the electrics ☹ Cleaned it all off then drained the oil tank as the oil in it must be over 6 years old 😬 Filled it back up with some lovely Exol fully synth 😋 Steve

Forgot to say I also changed the fuel lines 😁
Also ordered a new fuel tap as don't like the way I can move the spigot on the current one. Not leaking but better to be safe

Swapped bikes around in the shed so I can work on my neglected 385 First time she's seen daylight in 5 years. Christ it's gonna take some cleaning 😔 Waiting on new fuel line to arrive to replace the hard shrunken stuff on it before I stick any fuel in it Steve It must have saw daylight when you moved it from the garage to the shed, It was in the garage the first time I came to your house, it even ran

Today i fitted a YSS shock ( cheers mr Mutts nuts) and serviced the forks with a clean out, fresh atf with a slightly higher level and 4 mm preload spacers to raise the ride height slightly and then i refitted the exhausts as i had taken them off to give them another couple of coats of stove paint last week. All i need now is the new bodywork and tank to come back from MC and im ready for the summer. happy days

Took the 250LC to Box hill then went to Walton bridge cafe for a coffee (good coffee), found that the bigger jets (210 with Lomas retro pipes) gives better power past 6k to 9.5k but is almost unridable below that as it feels like the choke is on, standard jetting runs out of power about 8k,good ride out though. Just another 20 gentle(ish) running in miles . 180 done now since its full rebuild. BT46 seem to suit it well, not feeling the need for a steering damper yet. Always used to run one in the 80/90 s

Went for a 50 mile round trip, stopping off at Box Hill en route. Not that many bikes there and only mine was a stroker, there was a clean looking XT500 and a nice chap on a Panigale V2. But didn't stop for long as I was enjoying the ride! Lovely sunny afternoon, bike was running nicely, but I noticed I hadn't quite fixed the fuel cap leak, so a job for tomorrow, with a mug of tea and a hot x bun.

After being together for 35 years, I've now completed the full strip down and rebuild. 3 kicks and 'it's moving, it's alive' Now for the inevitable trouble shooting.

Went for another ride on Sunday in the sunshine, but after parking up overnight I noticed a leak from the clutch cover side gasket, a bit worrying. Will pull the cover and hope it's just a poor quality gasket that I can fix with a genuine one from Norbo.
