took the ypvs rad plates off but it does make the oversize rad look a bit big now tho , trimmed the belly pan underneath to give the exhausts a bit more room , kicked hell out the kicker again before realising the switch was in off position (not for the first time ) warmed it up and changed the gearbox oil , took the exhausts off to get them stoved at a local coater ,and give it a bit of a clean mart

I blew a fork seal last week so thought it was time to service the suspension. As the rear shock is now beginning to feel a bit bouncy it has been sent off for a service as well.

Looks like my oil leak may be coming from the oil pump oil seal ๐ญ Clutch cover is off and waiting for the parts to arrive so I can fix her up and get riding again. Thankfully the weather has turned grey and chilly, so I am in no mood for a ride atm.

Just started the twin disc conversion on the 250LC, stripped both callipers and discs and painted with PJ1 satin black, drying in the conservatory, hope to start to reassemble tomorrow.

Took the ypvs codnor microns off the 4L0 350 and fitted the 31K YPVS standard pipes, after cutting the mounting brackets off and re welding them back in position to suit the 4L0 .
Mid range flat spot gone.

Checked timing on the 4L0.
I left it in the position it was in when I got it after the full rebuild.
It was set at 0.7mm BTDC. Oops.
As running standard bore and compression, set it to 2mm.
Checked it with strobe, marks aligned.
I now have midrange !

Thanked myself for labeling the overflow pipe ends. When I set the petc**k to prime, bike became incontinent, but I was able to tell which carb had a float stuck and tapped it with a socket extension. Flow stopped.

Sonโs VW is in the garage...heโs borrowing my four wheeler to get to his work so Iโve been biking to my job. Luckily weather is cooperating. As much as I really, really love the 500, when I get on this, everything feels like itโs in the right place, you can throw it into any corner and hitting the power band is still a buzz.

After replacing all the gaskets and oil seals in the clutch cover, plus replacing a couple of slightly iffy looking parts and resetting my oil pump, I put 1.5L of Motul transoil in the gearbox and cross my fingers that I've fixed the oil leak.
