I went to put my 1WT engine back together after a rebore and crank rebuild. Only to realise I've missed one of the seals out of my Fowlers order .

New genuine yam throttle cable fitted. 45 degree bends on top of carbs cleaned out and a thin smear of corrosion block grease used.
Lovely throttle action and slides actually balanced.

Cleaned off the winter protector and gave the YPVS 350 polish up. Opened the carb drains and no fuel so the seals have been good over the winter, tuned on the fuel drains still open, fuel looks good so closed up the drains, turned the key and second kick and starts up, grabs jacket etc and off for a 20 mile run. Did the same with the R1-Z.

Well Monday ,my mate Gordi came round and gave me a hand moving my bikes from the rear garden to their new home .It was a short push .It would have been shorter but the council installed an anti motorcycle thingy to stop folks on bikes .So they are in a secure place and accessible . Start getting them ready for the road now .

Last good day before some storms hit so dashed home from work at lunchtime and swapped the car for the 500...clocks went forward last week here so good run home in the not as dark. Carbs no longer incontinent and fork seals keeping in the oil.

Lifted the cover off one today.... And looked at it in disbelief.... at how someone would be prepared to cough up Β£10k plus...Clowns. Oh dont worry it will not be for sale to someone with too much money or an "investor".... f*ckem. They are now in H2 territory (although they are a much better bike in every way)

Took mine back for it's MOT today, after last weeks efforts were thwarted by an overflowing carb. Passed with flying colours and had an 'honour guard' of the mechanics as I left, who all wanted to hear it running!

Heavy duty ebc clutch springs fitted. Originals just below ok spec, checked back to back in a vice original springs coilbound new hardly compressed.
New carb needles and needle jets from Allens in carbs, not ridden it yet but its definitely leaner than it was. Will test ride tomorrow.

Fixed my leaky tap outlet on the f2,stuck it back in with good old araldite,no more leak! Turned my attention to the brake side carb that wouldn't stop pouring petrol out of the overflow, gave it a tap, nope still leaking, tightend the brass screw on the overflow ,sorted! DOH

Swapped bikes around in the shed so I can work on my neglected 385 First time she's seen daylight in 5 years. Christ it's gonna take some cleaning π Waiting on new fuel line to arrive to replace the hard shrunken stuff on it before I stick any fuel in it Steve

4L00 carb needles set to clip pos 3, with all new jets I now have a fairly rideable 350LC, that is nearly fit for me to apply for membership of the LC touring Club with.
The Microns will probably get me black balled though.

I wasnt really ever happy with the Paint on the exhausts So cleaned up the exhaust pipes and stripped off the Matt Black paint. Took a while with lots of Acetone, Paint stripper, 320 wet & dry and green scotch brite. but it was worth all the effort.
Quite nice for 36 year old pipes, even kept some of the old battle scars to keep the "Rivet counters" happy.
