One answer: IMO there are Only 2 conditions for these engines.. A) just rebuilt B) in need of a rebuild Be a shame to 'run it for a while' and do serious /expensive damage.. because you had NO knowledge of how good OR bad it was. Even more foolish to "tune it" blindly. A less than prime condition engine will Suffer.. often badly. With heavier than usual perf loadings resulting from piecemeal "improvements" whilst in Semi Clapped condition Best to: Remove the cyls to check the rod play for insight into current crank condition. Gauge the bores and look at the pistons to see IF they will survive the "improvements" Sound advice, thanks, andy

Getting a shopping list for norbo, getting the combined digital ignition and cdi, bahsee coils, give it a decoke and a carb overhaul, any other things I should consider doing? My intention is to run the bike this year and do a rebuild similar to what mouse has done on his next winter, as you all know these things are expensive, looking to spread the cost by doing it this way and getting some much needed play time, would really appreciate your thoughts on this. Andy Don't do everything at the same time as you will have no ideas if any problems arise what's done what!!! 1 step at a time . The engine ran fine, just looking at a couple of changes to improve performance and reliability

In the real world it has 2 uses 1) to shake the shot out from after powdercoating 2) for use as a "knackeredometer" (if you shake the arm and lots of rust flakes fall out its f*cked) Steve hahaha, thanks steve, my new favorite word "knackeredometer"
