Rob it doesn’t hurt, I had my right eye done, new lense etc. you honestly don’t feel anything or see anything. They put a mask over your face, injections around the eye and 40 minutes later it’s done. I was worried about seeing them do it, concerned about the pain etc, nothing at all. Then you wear an eye patch for a few days, you have to put eye drops into the eye few days later that’s it. I think you’re supposed to keep using the drops for 28 days.

What’s peeps fave helmet designs? I’m a huge sheene and schwantz fan and have a couple of shwantz reps and done my arai in sheene design. However was perusing eBay and keep coming across these, they have to be my fave all time colour scheme. Remember working at Frettons Honda mid 1980’s we sold the original super vents in Freddie’s colour.

Thanks chaps. It’s my left knee/leg it’s 1 1/2 in shorter due to a red Ford escort and my cb100n (I know) at 17 years old. I’ve always been ok and been fit and healthy. I still regularly exercise, cold shower therapy etc etc etc but it’s now agony on a daily basis and to the point that the drugs don’t always work. I saw a specialist about remedial surgery but any surgery will shift the problem to my hip and spine which are all twisted to compensate for the shortness in my leg. I even asked about having the lower leg surgically amputated such is the pain. I’ve got a referral now to a pain specialist I’m seeking out pain relief and have looked at steroid injections as well as other pain relief. I’m with Bupa and I’m hoping also for medical cannabis rather than using herbal. So all is on the table really and I don’t want this to be limiting in my ability to enjoy my life. Tbh when I’m in South Africa the dry heat helps massively unfortunately I can’t emigrate.

Anyone have these? I’ve an appointment with a pain clinic soon, at present I’m using 8 cocodamol a day and some herbal pain relief, this isn’t sustainable so having looked at potential solutions this comes up as one possibility. Any real life experience? Cheers all

I guess the costs of designing an engine to meet the legal requirements with the size of the market place means it’s commercially unviable. It’s not really a surprise. How many do they sell here and in the EU? I can see it happening to the majority of big sports bikes. Buyers have drifted away from 1000cc bikes towards urban/adventure bikes and I’ve said it before a 765 is more than good enough and quick enough for 99% of the population. I can see a rise in the development of forced induction on mid weight cc bikes and wouldn’t surprise me to start to see 600/750 turbos making a comeback. Look at the car industry engines are generally getting smaller with turbos etc.

The way I see this, is Alex is on a budget, is he going to get better for his money? If this was an Lc in similar condition what would you say? I humbly disagree with Steve and Dusty. I don’t see them going down in value only up, they are getting harder to find in decent nick and I’d do a viewing at this price. Yes cosmetically it needs work, but it’s a low miles totally standard bike with all the original bits, the motors are unburstable, and as a project it’s got loads of potential. If it was a minter it would be 6-7k. Comparable bikes price wise are far far worse condition. However it’s your cash Alex but I honestly think if you want better you’ve got to seriously spend a fair bit more cash.

I think it was a good spot by Andy. Personally you aren’t going to get better for your money. Minters are £6k, it’s a good solid basis for buying and a rolling restoration. Low ish miles 22’000 ish standard, bullet proof motors, I think you either need to spend more or lower your expectations. Think what kind of an Lc you’d get for similar money. I sold my last one that looked exactly the same 8 ish years ago for £2500, so not hugely expensive.

Had a cataract operation 18 months ago in my right eye as a result of an eye injury my vision had gone completely. Like you Dave I was apprehensive, the reality was nothing like what I had created. It was quick, simple and effective. Post op it was as though someone had lifted a haze and I hadn’t realised how much it had deteriorated. I’d have it done again without any concern and highly recommended if you need it get it done. Glad you are on the way to recovery.

There are a few people that make tanks in the Uk, however what I found when I was looking for a specific tank for a different bike was, the lead times are ridiculously long, the price generally means you need to order a short run of them, and because they are busy knocking tanks out that they already have patterns for they didn’t really want to do a one off and thus quoted ridiculous money. Now whether you could buy an Indian tank then get it adjusted to fit properly by a fabricator that could be a cheaper way of doing it?

Iain I’ll give you a quid just for the giggles. I do remember there was an alloy tanked Lc with gold pinstripes and decals in the late 90’s early 00’s for some reason I thought Nigel owned it? It was a club member from that time as well as I believe on Alec’s forum?

Tbh before I undertook any tuning I’d make sure everything else is set right. Dave talks about the pv’s being set right, then I’d check ignition, what do you use? Make sure your carbs are properly set up and clean, what pipes do you have? Going to use? Also be mindful of the chassis, it’s no good having a motor pumping out horse power if the chassis/brakes can’t handle it etc etc
