As a spotty yoof I'd have been all over that had I known of its existence. Given its rarity and history I'd say that at £10k it's not over-priced.

I think that its 'mildly interesting' in the scheme of things, but I cant see people fawning all over it really.
To me its exactly what the LC didnt need, ie more weight (especially up front) and to be '70's-ized' with a horrid fairing. How does that handle I wonder?
Ahh the 80s! The germans loved to do bodykits for anything and everything back then. The likes of Zender, Kerscher and others managed to make car kit designs that were timeless and are still desirable today... is what I would have said if it was true. You'll hardly find one other than as a curio these days.
Many of those car and bike kits just looked awful in a fussy 80s way sadly and very few people other than those who already have a bunch of standard ones and fancy something different want one as then the hard to find old and weird stuff works as the uncool becomes cool...
Sure, kind of like I am with the JDM BEET stuff. I get that few (no one else really) likes the look, but its of the era and would only be lost otherwise... but even I know if I sold my 251LC that id not get top dollar in a market of people wanting OEM standard bikes (likely to mod their way) and that the next buyer would rip off the JDM stuff and probably refit an LC engine to it and paint it bounty colours. Sigh... It's missing the point of why I built it, but hey... There is only one me... (oi who at the back shouted, 'thank god!'!?!? lol.)
I think that its the same with this bike. Sure, great bit of history... perfect to stick in a museum or trot it out for the odd event but park an OEM LC next to it and which one would draw people over? This one will be in the back of those photos, but perhaps not the subject.
Just my 2c of course. A similar full Mel Lemoto kitted out LC would be the same... and we all know how everyone loves Raasks...

JON, you so covered everything I was thinking about the bike, I'm guessing if I was 17 again I might think differently, I even liked the old cx500 back then, which I now think is ridiculous. But I do seem to remember the FLF kits, they looked decent back then, but alas, not now, for me.

It's a funny one for me 🤔
I have no idea if the back story is true or the relevance of it and whether it gives it any extra value
The bit that I'm not comfortable with is the "pre production"
We're these not the sub 101 bikes? He just says low number, surely anything over 100 is just a press bike or an early number?
Also if this bike does have an extra value or interest surely that's in Germany, not the UK
The Jap collector obviously wasn't impressed

When i read it i also thought if it was a pre production machine that it should have listed the <100 number, especially if its matching.
Its a funny old world, it seems this bike is all about its provenance and that would need to be rock solid as without it its just another German LC with an ugly bodykit, no matter who made it.

I think that when you take the bullshit out of the description it's a really nice bike and definitely worth £5k

I trie to use my blade runner tech on that engine number but failed 😞.Has someone dressed the paint off the frame number?

There is something at the frame number but not sure if dressed back (no idea why as the paint is so thin originally it's almost transparent) or if it's the alloy vin plate
The fact Yam JP didn't know about it suggests it was a German Yam dealer thing so again quite a local thing
The allen bolts on the left case look out of place and the tank left stripe decal placement is awful
If its not a pre 101 number it's just a bike that the guy who owned the fairing company bought and stuck his products on
One thing I noticed on the German doc (which has no relevance to this thread) is that it states 345cc. I have a German frame that has 345 on the doc, it's like they rounded up/down 🤔
Anybody else had this or do I need to check if Wulf was the last owner 🤣

I don’t know I think it’s attractive in an early 80’s vorsprung durch technik way. Simpson, adidas kick trainers and a paddock jacket.
Do I bollocks 🤢🤮
