I need to replace all the bearings etc in the headstock/steering on my 31k it is a bit of a rolling restoration and had been standing for 10 years or more,I have not done this before and need to get all the bits before I take it apart, could anyone give me a list of everything I need to order (most likely from Norbo). Thanks

I was a self employed sole trader (subby brickie) for years it was simple, for the last 8 years I have had a limited company and employees and am Vat registered. The Hmrc have less staff every year and it seems we have to do their job for them ,the left hand doesn't seem to know what the right hand is doing ,they are in chaos and are the baine of my life ,I have more than enough to do without sorting out their incompetence.

Nice looking bike, with a nice bit of provenance eg engine build etc; and whatever you paid for it is irrelevant, and if people have problems with that then maybe they should put their hard earned cash into one and stop bad mouthing people without any idea of what others circumstances are. Shame you have to let it go, if it were me I would ebay it with the speedo fault corrected and list the std pipes separately . Good luck with the sale No disrespect but I would of thought what Kev paid for it, given that he purchased it recently and knowing how much cash he has put into in would give him a pretty good idea of the value or what he would like to get for it.

Remember when you fit later lowers you can't use the LC2 mudguard, you have to use the f/N muddy Steve Yes didn't think about that ,probably suit me better to get some calliper adapter plates.

Thats a good plan if you can keep the waisted 31k stanchions and use the fork bottoms of a f2 etc to accept Triumph callipers, I think I might try this myself. Have you got some lying around? Let me know how it goes....
I tried putting 31k top yolks and bars on a N2 it was messy so I abandoned it, you probably need bar risers to do it, I think I have most of the bits for the 31k /N2 forks on the 31k but I am still working on the N2 so it won't be for a while might be a case of you letting me know how you get on first.

I wanted a 250 when I was 17 but the price was way beyond my means and I guess I wasn't alone the older lads with better jobs all had 350,s Air-cooled were affordable,I feel kind of bad about it now but I personally killed 2 RD 200s they were almost worthless at the time.Happy days

Bit of fun really,If you had to guess, what percentage of bikes do you think have survived to this day? i.e. how many bikes are still on the road?

Dusty is right, I keep a 3/8 advanced set in my van and the sockets are really slack on the fit to the ratchet or extension bars, I use bluepoint at home and they are miles better, but the advanced stuff was dead cheap in a half price deal.
