That really is sad and somewhat unbelievable!
What a tragic waste, poor guy, he's 48!
I don't know what sort of inner demons he faced but it seems very cruel.
He was one of the most naturally talented racers in the world but clearly very troubled.

Powdercoating looks great, it's nice to see one of those swingarms in black rather than the normal polished finish.

Think the black one could be for a centre stand. Afraid your temp sender is missing the little 'tang' which attaches to the loom, mine snapped off too, maybe somebody on here will have a spare or try fleabay, or i think the people also use the landrover ones.

Spot on that May I ask what sponge that is and how you cut it? Looks very well done. Many thanks! Sure, the sponge is self-adhesive race seat foam, 10mm thick. Cut by hand with a surgical scalpel using a ruler, various spray can lids and a roll of masking tape as templates! Mouse

I did it to my LC on Monday, but I chucked it down the road and broke my kneecap, wrist and hand in 2 places. Totally my own fault and I feel so stupid. Moment's lapse of concentration, panic brake, front wheel locks up and I go down like a sack of spuds. I was doing about 15 MPH when the van in front braked sharply and I was looking somewhere else. The really stupid thing is that I had room to stop but I just reacted without thinking. Dumb mistake that I wouldn't have done 30 years ago. Sadly this means the end of my motorcycling, as my wife would not be able to bear me going out on one any more. So, I'm going to be fixing the bike (there's not much damage), and selling it. Really sad, but I think I'm just to old to be trusted on 2 wheels. Bugger. Really sorry to hear this, it's easily done. Sounds like the punishment does not fit the crime. Wishing you speedy and hassle free recovery, all the best Mouse

Don't watch this if you don't want to know yet!
These are the last few laps from the last race today of the 2023 BSB Championship. All season came down to this, it is superb!
It has been a brilliant championship this year, and ended throughly well deserved new champion!

I have used Motoliner several times for wheels and frames and highly recommend them, or just buy another wheel but as you say, will that be straight?

So, this was the 'Classic Bike Trackdays' event?
Yes, i believe the 500 owner has another more standard version as well, think 'Practical Sportsbikes' did a feature on it a while back, the owner is a pilot.
I was going to go with the FZ and maybe an LC too, but was too late in booking!! Some friends went, one with a Seeley G50 and one with a heavily modded Katana.
Hope to next year do some 'CBT' days with the FZ, similar age bikes, although she does ok against much more modern stuff on normal trackdays!

Two more trackdays done on the FZ, Donnington in August, my first time there, an evening trackday. What a fantastic circuit, recently resurfaced and so smooooooth. It really is a superb circuit and so much wider that you realise, one corner flows into the next and so on, so if you get one wrong... The only part i was not so keen on was the Melbourne loop and the off-camber left onto the start finish straight, but it was a great eve and only spoilt by the traffic going home and to be honest, getting there too, M1! Donnington signaled the end of my rear tyre, three track eves, less than 200 miles
New tyre purchased, £185!! and off to Brands again for a full day on track. I'd been praying for a warm dry day and boy was it, 30 plus degrees!! Of the six sessions i only did five, was completely exhausted, too old! Still it was fantastic, had a great dice with a guy on an R6, similar power to my FZ but a lot younger!
I'd love to get one of two more trackdays in this year but we'll have to see. The FZ has been fantastic and all the little tweeks have really helped especially have the adjustable dog-bones which have really helped her to turn. Maybe some more fettling over winter! Mouse

That looks nice, I think this is a much better bet than the 400.
Will you go and look at it before the end? If this doesn't work out have you considered a 'slingshot' 750, they are still cheap?

I have it on good authority from a trusted source, that the plan is to make all of London zero emissions within 4 years!
So, all the small business, all the people living in London, all the business's that look after vehicles with petrol/diesel engines, all the couriers and suppliers to business's in London, what happens to them if they cannot afford an overpriced scalextric car?
Maybe, the plan is to turn London into a ghost town, if so it's working.
What really bugs me is the people who could do something, aren't, we have a prime minister who says it's unfair and making life difficult for people and yet does nothing! I very much doubt any party will, they are all the same, self serving w**kers, out for themselves.
Also it will destroy our car industry, such as it is. This country does not have the facilities to build electric cars, for that you need 'giga factorys' (to produce the batteries), Europe has them, China has a lot we have none and on the subject of batteries, will someone please explain what happens tho these electric car batteries when they are finished? I don't believe all the components can be recycled, so?
And Finally! Half the electricity in this country is still generated by burning fossil fuels and they are wanting to demand more electricity, the demand will be enormous!
