Now tyres are what keeps you upright so I would pay attention, Storage conditions are the most important variable, away from sunlight, stored upright and away from ozone sources, as someone said before.
I got my bike and has 4 year old tyres that have done less the 300 miles, will keep those and reuse as they still look soft and flexible.

Prices are going down here in Greece, Been looking at the prices people are paying to get a bike to rebuild in UK and I'm shocked.
On the other hand the prices to get new parts for these bikes here are very expensive. I would pick Norbo's lc shop any day..

Will check the Haynes book, It just did not make sense having a shim that covers only half the brake pad...

Removed my brake pads and found a metal shim on the back of the pads, did not find it under all pads but only on half of those What is the purpose of those shims? Do I have to refit those and get some more for the rest of the pads? Kostas

Thanks for the support guys, I have two demons in my head, one says to finish it and ride it and the other one to be patient and take it slow to do it propertly. I assembled the chasis with the wheels to see some results, Im very happy with the result so far IMG_1396 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr IMG_1398 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr fitted the rear wheel.. Hi, Should the frond right hand footrest fold and stay up on my 31K? It folds but it is spring loaded to stay down. How do I avoid fatal injury to my leg when I use the kickstart Thanks Kostas

You should move this to the finished rebuilds forum then, Do that before you get to the pub, I doubt that you will remember it after!

It was a bit windy yesterday at the airport and two of the flightschool aircraft just decided they had enought and Took Off. One landed on top of our office buiding, From inside, and the other was a close call, Both are a complete write-off. They were parked and tied down with heavy duty ropes 300 ft away from the building Weather report was for 90 Kts gusting winds. Guess you can't mess with mother nature. Kostas

Mine are faded, what the secret?
Thanks

Not that hard to do. You get to use very detailed instructions, but have to stay focused and not forget anything.
Can't really pull over on the road with that when things go wrong..

Hi all, Been away in Turkey for a few days so did not have much done, Got my nuts and bolts cleaned and plated, will it qualify for a full nut and bolt rebuild now? IMG_1279 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr Came out very bright gold, so I maybe blast some and have those done again, not sure yet Got the swingarm seals, bushings fitted, first parts that come together again IMG_0037 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr and started cleaning my wiring, which will take some time and I hope when complete all swiches do what they suppose to do.. IMG_0038 by k.apostolopoulos, on Flickr Have not touched my engine yet.. I'm afraid of what I find inside, I just noticed that there is some play at the flywheel side of the crankshaft. Bearings must be shoot Cheers Kostas

Bike looks very nice Steve, I have friends coming by to see the bike I rebuild and all I have after 3 months is a pile of parts, I can see the disappointment in their faces. You have to do this just to imagine the amount of work involved.
Keep it up!

Thank you all,
Yes polish was spot on! I see what you mean marsbar.. Big space there compared to what I have seen in the forum but it is located about 25 miles from home. Could live with a small shed right under my house
Will be slowing down the build as workload is high at work. Not very happy with that, but have to pay the bills + the wife's expenses...

Hi Shane, Nice work there, this NC30 arm is very cool, and both exhaust coming out from the right side is one of the best mods out there. We can't get any bike like that thru MOT here so I keep it standard.
