Dunno why this is here, anyone able to move it to general?. I would suggest to pin it to the top. It would help to put things into the right perspective. Hope you recover!

You get to see a lot of “amazing” thinks on the internet these days that nothing really seems to actually amaze you!
But this is really special! Genuine WTF moment!

I believe I have the same problem with you. When I close the throttle at high speed I can feel the bike / engine vibrate. If I pull the clutch it stops. My engine was rebuild with reconditioned crankshaft.
I tend to believe that the rubber engine mounts have turned to concrete which in turn does not help.

If you don't have a nut hold the threaded section between you thumb and fore finger like it's sitting on the bike with your thumb nail half way up the thread Rotate the mirror clockwise as if you are tightening it If your thumb nail moves up the thread towards the lock nut then it's the left mirror If it goes down off the end it's the right mirror Steve That confused me even more😆😆 I

It all has to do with the condition of the shims between the exhaust header and the mounting flange. This is what determines how much pressure will actually be applied on the copper gasket.
I would loose the paper gasket gust to be on the safe side.

Engine numbers are painted Personally I would leave the raised parts unpainted I have seen fasteners loose their torque over time, I did the same with the bottom of the engine.

I used it on the base gaskets as I noticed a leak when I did the leak down test. I would not use it in the head gasket.

Thanks. Was expecting something like that. At school never liked physics. Now I'm learing by doing Think air was also quite humid. But how is it possible my old bike would work fine with -15 ? Airbox probably will help. And misfiring is like stuttering / gunshots ? That would also explain some. And can it be the left has less difficulty because it was on choke getting a different mixture ? Of course it should run and not build up ice at -15.. any humidity in the air is already frozen and is just sucked into the engine. +5 to + 10 with humidity is ideal conditions for carb ice .. when air sucked thru the venturi the pressure drops and so does the air temp.. if you add the temp drop from the fuel vaporization then you get carb icing. Aircraft Engine Icing Lesson 101😀😀

I used a couple of vacuum gauges last time to set my carbs while the engine is running. Turned out that the slide dimples as these appear thru the windows were spot on.
I guess the gauges were an overkill.. Next time I will just go by the dimples

Those Galfers cost me a small fortune for my RGV... With the mileage I’m gonna do on it they should outlive me so I thought I should buy once and not buy cheap.

Welcome in! Have a good read around the forum, a lot of what youre asking has been covered before and the search works well here, but do have a look at the builds section in particular as that covers a lot of very sexy stuff thats happening right now. No problem to me that you mention your XT500, I have one too Are you on the XT forum? What an awesome looking bike!!!

Take the side casings off and undo the crankshaft primary gear nut, dismantle the clutch and undo the basket retaining but. From the other side undo the flywheel nut and the sprocket gear nut.
These are all difficult to undo with the engine on the bench as you cannot really apply any force without taking the whole engine with you.

I had the same problem with both my F1 exhausts. What I did is that I cut the rear section of one exhaust removed the piece and weld the exhaust back together. After the first I realised that I went too far with it so I left the other as it was.
I have been running the bike for 5 years and I can’t spot any difference. If you can pull it out without cutting the exhaust open then do it as the broken piece will rattle at idle and it can be annoying

I have a VJ22 with the banana arm. Recently replaced all the bushes and needle bearings and did not have this problem.
It seems that something is not right with yours, any chance you deformed the bearings on installation?

Marking an item as “send for repair and return” results in being taxed for the cost of the repair as declared on the repair invoice but not the value of the part itself.
Goods have to be registered on their way out of the country and then taxed on return.
This is what applies to Greece...

38 Seems a bit high. I don’t have the book close right now.
Someone will shortly.. I go with the feeling most of the times except with crank cases and head gaskets.
Make it up tight and recheck a few miles letter and I’m good to go..

Hi Guys has anyone experienced issues with the length of braided brake lines from Venhill, particularly those sold by Up The Shop in the UK via ebay I bought a full set last October, tried to fit the rear line, however found it was 30mm too long I used the shortest they had sent me out of the set I compared it to the original line and again about 30mm too long All the lines are stamped Venhill, although there is nothing in the description on the packaging to say they are for 1985 RD350 YPVS, which is what I bought I'm not sure if I can return the item after so long, however I've emailed them pictures to show the issue Cheers Howard A couple of months ago I got venhill brake lines for my RGV from “up the shop” just like you, received and as you said there was nothing to imply these were a kit for the RGV. Aft brake line was way longer and frond were so short that they would limit the fork travel😤😤😤 Even the banjos were not the correct angle... The seller did offer to send the correct parts if I was to measure etc but I refused. Send him the parts back and got a refund. But, same as you I live in Greece and all this is costing me time and frustration which I find unacceptable. You either know your shit set up a shop and do business or do nothing..

I used pattern “extreme” seals when I rebuild mine and both were stiff from day one.
As soon as I fitted genuine Yama parts (the bag was Yama but the seals were NOK) it was fixed!!

Does this mean that current teenagers will be riding 4 stroke bikes 20 years from now and get the usual “what a f**k is that!!! you are killing the planet mate!’’ at the traffic lights...??
