There was a pair of Billets on that Gsxr project I had - really nice calipers. I priced up the adapter brackets from NK - they are now £150 odd - last pair I bought were 80 but that was a good few years ago now. Decent Blue spots are spendy too, so by the time I factored everything in, these seemed a decent buy. Dusty

Cheers Mark Really looking forward to getting it on it's wheels. Then I can fit the Allspeeds, carbs, and get the bodywork on. Hi Mouse - yea, the calipers will get a light polish but they are pretty good as they are. The receipt says they are a tad under 2 years old, and not had much use by the look of them. Dusty

Lovely job, are the calipers quite heavy? Neil

As far as I am aware, they are the only aftermaret calipers that are a direct bolt on to the narrow Lc and Lc2 fork mounts. Never had a pair on an Lc so was pleased to get them. And good question Neil regards the weight. They feel lighter, and they are, a bit !!; 20230309_065655 by dusty miller, on Flickr 20230309_065711 by dusty miller, on Flickr

Got the tyres fitted today. I was hoping the yellow rim tape I ordered at the beginning of the week may have arrived by now, but not yet So I'm leaving it on the stand until the stickers arrive as it will be easier to apply to the wheel off the ground. I will apply the front ones before fitting the wheel; 20230311_194244 by dusty miller, on Flickr 20230311_194315 by dusty miller, on Flickr

She really is a beauty. Saw the bike again today and the bike as a whole is stunning, but then you get drawn into the little details. Like the polished parts. They look like chrome.
As Rigga says, expect nothing less.

Cheers fellas Jury is out on the rim decals. I wanted some like I've had before; 20190425_191918 by dusty miller, on Flickr Couldn't find them in the correct yellow, although ebay pics may show colour shades slightly differently to reality. May look a bit harder as I'm not overly happy with them. Dusty

I also bought a set of 29L cush rubbers recently Dusty, I was a bit shocked they were still available to be honest and so many of my stash are a bit trashed now.
Im not at all sure on the decals, sorry...

I bought my cush rubbers from Fowlers, but then saw that Norbo lists them as well ! The old ones would fall out if you tipped the wheel over at an angle, so thought it worth renewing them. 40 years old I guess, and a hard life no doubt !! Hi Chris - yea, my least modded Lc, but the costs are still eye watering ! Goes to prove there is no way to build a cheapish Lc, even when you start with a good, complete donor Cheers Pete Got the bike off the wooden stand today, then side stand fitted with a new Yam spring and a fancy stainless bolt from Norbo, and the first Allspeed pipe fitted for the first time; 20230318_202013 by dusty miller, on Flickr

Soda crystals (in french cristaux de soude) : 1-2 tablespoons per litre of very hot water. Leave to work, shake well and rinse thoroughly with water.

No, the plastic oil and overflow tanks are the original Swiss 250 items. I use a bit of coat hanger wire with a green scourer cable tied on the end to clean them on the inside - you can bend the wire to get to the awkward parts, and a selection of cleaning ingredients found under the sink ! The oil tank had a blue oil (obviously) in it but I cant remove the evidence of that, but it is clean. Red oil will be going in, so the tank may take on a purple hue !! All the plastics on this bike have been in amazing condition for their age, and I haven't had to try too hard to get them up to a really nice standard. The main parts that looked below par were the oil pump cover - since Cerakoted - and the clutch centre disc - changed for the polished alloy item - and the ends of the airbox which got some black plastic restorer to bring them back. Clocks all rebuilt. I used the Mph speedo pinched from the Fzrd bike and although not from an Lc, it fits an Lc clock case perfectly. The inside of the glass on both instruments was given a good clean as 40 years had left some dirty marks ! I treated them to new top and bottom cases, checked all the bulbs, clean all the wiring and connectors, and bolted it all back together, and onto the bike; 20230319_211053 by dusty miller, on Flickr I didn't zero the speedo as I wanted to keep the mileage "honest". In fact, this speedo is showing a couple of thousand more than the original Kmh, which was approx 29000 miles, but I'm not bothered about that. The speedo and tacho cable have been cleaned up and are getting some oil down them, and then they will go on next 20230319_211351 by dusty miller, on Flickr

Cheers Alex Been doing a few simple jobs lately - fitting speedo and tacho cables, and a new Yam clutch cable. The old one was good to be fair but I wanted a new one to get the absolute best out of the clutch. Also fitted 2 pattern front indicators as the original were pretty tired, and wouldn't have looked as good as the original rears; 20230325_200535 by dusty miller, on Flickr I've also cleaned up the original gear change lever and have a new washer and circlip from Norbo, as well as a new end rubber as the original was damaged; 20230325_200520 by dusty miller, on Flickr I also gave the radiator a deep clean, taking care not to damage the fine aluminium fins. I then treated the rad to a coat of satin black paint; 20230325_200558 by dusty miller, on Flickr Once cured, I bolted it back on; 20230326_174313 by dusty miller, on Flickr 20230326_174337 by dusty miller, on Flickr And I was never really happy with the wheel rim decals. I eventually managed to find the ones I wanted, in a yellow that is close enough to the paint scheme; 20230325_200541 by dusty miller, on Flickr Dusty
