Rolled it out the shed, connected a remote fuel tank with some premix and did the first start up Oil pump bled up and all seems fine other than rev counter looks slightly keen and temp gauge doesn't work so clocks off again and I'll have to try and find another rev counter from God knows where π€¬ I've earthen the sender wire and still nothing so unless I've made a schoolboy error with the wiring the gauge is knackered Steve

Cracking! Excuse my ignorance (and I could be wrong) but I recall PV's didn't have LC clocks. Either way who cares she's a stunner!

It is for sale funny enough π I have another forum member interested so he has first refusal but nothing agreed as of yet Just be warned the price is not for the feint hearted By the time I'd built the rolling chassis and fitted the newly built engine I was at Β£5k Stopped counting at Β£7k π Steve

Got the temp gauge working, what a faffΒ
Before I stripped the clocks I thought I'd check the wiring.
Earthed the spade at the head and got nothing
Earthed the wire in the headlight and the gauge moved.
Bugger, I remembered the loom I used had the wire with the spade cut off where it entered the loom so immediately thought it must have been because it was brokenΒ
I had run a spare wire in case I used a electronic tacho so cut the sensor wire in the bowl and joined it to the new wire. Then soldered the spade section onto the new wire
It didn't feckin work!
Turns out after me cutting the wire out the loom it was only the spade connector crimp that was faulty π€¬

Had a play with the wiring and now charging the battery so looks like a dodgy connection π
Then no headlight now π. Just a furry fuse so doddle to sort π
Next it won't start (did this when I was going for its mot)
Well it starts till the float bowls are empty then stops and won't restart. Hefty tap on each float bowl and it starts. Fitted new valves but seems if it lies for a while with the valves shut they stick. Hopefully use will sort that
Fitted a newly covered seat then took it out and did 50 miles.
Behaved perfectly but RH pipe resonating loudly at 3-4k
Pipe is like a wizards sleeve on the stub so I obviously didn't shove enough sealer in. Soon sort that π
