Turning out really nice Steve.
Moving at a great pace too. Just fitted F2 switchgear to my own LC2 but hit a wee problem with the throttle. Putting a couple of pics up tonight

And the reason I only got the tank pro painted... ...got original style laminated decals made so no point spending Β£300 to get the tail and sides done when they are mostly covered. My local car painter can do them black then I'll fit the decals Steve

Next joyous job was trying to make up a decent set of instruments My plan (if it all fits) is LC clocks and xjr400 headlight bracket My bracket and the other top yoke ain't back from powder coating so speedo and rev counter build is as much as I can do I picked up a mph Speedo but no case so then bought a kph Speedo and a set of faces from Simon Wells My tacho case was badly cracked but the lugs were still intact so a bit of plastic welding sorted that Only broke 1 needle (and that was it flying into the bag over it) but had a spare so saved Turned out well Steve

Great job on the clocks, just shows what can be done! Mouse Cheers Mouse The bit that would surprise people is that it isn't an LC Speedo, it's not even from a Yamaha π± I need to work some magic on the trip knob but if it all works out I'll come clean π Steve

It is the same 2240:60 ratio, the face from Simon fits straight on and it even has the same needle

Little backward step but needed done The forks on it were bought as recent oil/seals but hey aren't they all π I had picked up a set of the earlier model Fazer forks which are the same other than no preload adjusters and the lowers were brushed rather than painted There are some light marks on them but think the bright brushed finish suits this bike better Couldn't bear stripping them so dropped them at my local Yam dealer so Β£100 lighter they have new seals and new 10w oil π Now on the bike and I've replaced the non adjustable tops with some black anodised cnc adjustable ones XJR400 top yoke on now too Steve

And now my thinking behind the xjr top yoke swap I took a gamble on Yamaha being a creature of habit and it seems to have worked The LC clock bracket fits the yoke mounts so the clocks should mount above and hopefully the headlight bracket will go below and it will sit ok Steve

Decided the risers need to be lower as the xjr yoke is a good 10mm higher than the Fazer one and it may be a little "easy rider" so found another set I had but need a 12mm drill to open up the yoke mount holes so ordered one Stuck the front wheel back on which is not straight forward due to the spacer between the speedo drive and the bearing. It drops a few mm when the axle is out so you have to lift the wheel into position Then stick an extension bar in from the left to lift the spacer then feed the axle in from the right. Easy when you know how Then it was time to strip and clean the 31w carbs I had. New needle valves and seats along with new mains to jet up to 31k spec Came up nicely Steve

Awesome work Steve, this is looking great I like those fork tops ! Dusty Those fork tops are super expensive and of the highest quality... ...from China π To be honest they look decent quality Come to think about it, have we all stopped buying stuff from China in case some Corona ridden worker has sneezed in the box π€ π Steve

Fitted the carbs now with black stainless hose clips and fitted new fuel lines, clips and tee piece Also made up a small bracket to mount the clock bracket to. As I'd shortened the yoke stem by 20mm it threw out the spacing Clearance to the mudgaurd on full fork compression should be fine as the horn is normally mounted below and it ain't going there anymore so cut the bracket off Steve

Kin ell just realised you are building a bike in a shed in Scotland in the winter kudos you ard b*****d π Looking great Steve Cheers veg The shed is actually a wimp out Built it a few years ago out of timber and fence boards and kept it down to 12 x 8 so 5 mins even on winter with a fan heater and it's too hot Also got 2 greenhouse heaters on constantly from Nov to March so always warmer than outside and no condensation Now working in the detached brick garage, now that takes balls π§ Steve
