Lovely. I really like the wheels, I'm a fan of spokes in general
How much did you have to lower the shock mounting with the jack up plates?
I'm doing a FZ600 swingarm swap at the moment and would like to use the FZ arms. I think the standard shock length is 295mm, but the local YSS importer here can build the shock in 10mm increments from 240 mm to 390 mm. Was thinking of going with a ~320mm as its the same price.

Think I went 30mm but the shock is now on its shortest setting so you should be fine on 320 If I was doing it again I think I would go the extra mile and line bore the arm for new bush mounts to get welded in Then fill in the old cut out section I may do it at some point as I have a spare arm I went to the hassle of getting narrowed at the pivot before realising the link mounts are welded in out of true so the links try to twist out of line as the suspension compresses. It was supposed to be on another build but I then went for an fzr braced arm when it all went wrong Steve

Pistons and barrels fitted now Used the small end bearings that came with the crank. I've usually bought Jap ones from Fondseca but I'll trust the hot rods supplied ones Mitaka pistons but I have used gen Yam circlips Fitted the Riken rings including the expander but really struggled to get the barrels on so double checked the ring gaps but they were 0.3 top and 0.4 second so bang on Removed the expander and refitted the barrels. Still new bore snug but a lot better so they are staying out. Steve

Been doing bits and bobs over the last week. Top end fitted now, was waiting on the red silicone pv o rings turning up as yam now supply oversize black ones and the pattern ones are cack. Also found a boost bottle still in its bag that has been in a drawer for years so what the hell. Stuck a set of fibre reeds I found in it too, amazing what you collect over the years Pressure tested ok as well first time. Surprising as I didn't use any sealant on the carb rubbers as they were new and I even used pattern reed gaskets. They were the ones like the original gaskets that are aluminium with the grey rubbery bead on them so happy days. Stuck a new set of ebc clutch plates in to then fitted a powdercoated case that got done about 18 months ago. Steve

Well the engine is in now 😁 3hm1 radiator cleaned and painted. The sunroom not being used in winter has it's benefits, doesn't matter if it stinks of curing paint 😏 Steve

I'm trying to be posh 😝 It was a conservatory but had a proper roof fitted on it a few years ago. Was fed up listening to the rain on the plastic roof 🤣 Steve

Just got an email to say the tank is ready to collect from the painter £420 😱😖 Got a few other bits done over the last few days Electrics are a bit of a c**ktail lol I've used a 29l loom which is the same as a 31l lc2 loom other that no self cancel Indies. F2 stator fitted. I'll be using an f2 cdi too as I'm fed up with the dodgy lc2 29k50 cdi's after I went through 3 on the last build. Only one different connector on the loom so I'll male a little adaptor loom to connect them F2 pv controller as well so I've changed the connector so it fits the loom Steve

First little snag
Went to fit the oil tank and the rear bolt on my shock mount plate hits the inner lower edge of the tank
Now where did I put the heat gun...
Other little thing I remembered to do was run an extra wire through the front section of the loom
Not decided on what I'm doing clock wise for definate yet so now have 3 options
I fitted a tacho drive so have a mechanical option of lc2 or lc
Now the wire is run I can go ypvs signal to a ypvs tacho
I also have the option of taking a feed from the coil primary to feed a 3hm1 tacho (well at least I think I have one 🙄)
Dropped a top yoke and a headlight bracket from a 4hm xjr400 today for powder coat as I may change to that set up instead of the r1-z250 bracket I was going to use
Going to try and get an LC horn bracket and twin horns on there too
Steve

Sorted the oil tank. Heated the affected section with a heat gut then pressed a steel bar against it to shape it. Just picked up the tank from the painter Steve
