When I fitted my Metmachex arm I used one of Norbos stainless steel brake rods and bent it to the shape I wanted . It works perfectly . Might be another Yambits item to steer clear of .

I have 31K forks on my LC . I recently had Race Tech Emulators and linear springs fitted by a local company who are a Race Tech dealer . I havent done too many miles due to the weather but my thoughts are that its a very positive upgrade .

Im almost certain that you use 350LC small end bearings . Have you been supplied with 250LC bearings ?

Make sure that its as complete as possible . Its always the expensive and or hard to find bits that are missing .

Are you sure that those are genuine Mikuni needles ? If they are they should be marked 4N10 for a 250 or 5K1 for a 350 .

I was out riding in West Sussex on Sunday with two friends . One of them has a 66 reg bike with a black and silver plate on it . We got pulled over and my friend got a Fixed Penalty Notice for the plate . The copper told him its only allowed up to 1974 .

Im looking into this myself at the moment for LC11 forks on my LC . The only company I can find that list them are Race Tech . They do Emulators and different weights of springs . They do have UK agents or you can order them from HVC Cycle in the USA if you fancy taking a chance on getting stung for the import duties .

I doubt that you will be able to buy new genuine Yamaha pistons and rings from a dealer now . I think that they are no longer available . They do come up on eBay now and again . Why not try to source pattern items from somebody like PJME in Wolverhampton . They stock Mitaka piston kits as well as a wide range of pattern and genuine Yamaha spares . They also do international shipping . ( pjme.co.uk )

Dont forget that you can fit the cap in two positions 180 degrees opposite to each other . Its possible that the cap has been inserted in the " wrong " position and then locked 180 degrees away from where you expect it to be . I just tried it with mine .

I asked Ron ( Fahron ) about opening up my LC inlets for YPVS reed blocks last year . He told me he wont do it . He advised me to buy some YZ85 reeds and remove the centre bar from my LC reed blocks and give them a tidy up with a file . The YZ reeds fit the standard LC reed blocks perfectly and are a one piece design . I have no scientific proof but they do seem to be an upgrade . It even sounds better .

Also worth looking at Ed Erlenbach s website . A well respected 2 stroke man in the USA , and holder of at least one land speed record on an RD250 . Plenty of port maps and other great info .

Yanbits do a replacement for the white 4 pin connector . CBK007 is their part number . They arent as heavy duty as OEM but work well

The A/C forum has a "Manuals and Guides " section that you can look at , its in the Hot Topics bit . You might need to look at the R5 manual for info on a 350b . Otherwise maybe a Haynes manual ?

My neutral and oil warning light stopped working a while ago . The fault was traced to that white 4 pin connector which had over heated . OEB pointed me to a Yambits part number CBK007 replacement . Its not as heavy duty as OEM but it has worked nicely . Really easy to fit as well .

I bought a hydraulic one from Machine Mart last year to work on my TDR . Its a Clarke CML5 . It was about £130 and has wheels on it . Surprising how often the wheels come in handy . As said above , if you dont have pipes on an LC it would work really well .

+1 for what Steve midlife said . When I was using a copper head gasket I used a product called Wellseal on it . Worked like a charm for me .

Have a look at XS650 wheels . I dont know what years they changed them but they had single and twin disc set ups on wire wheels then cast wheels .
