dont mean to upset no one but late 80´s kawasakis are poo.....try a yam or honda you wont want a kawk again...lol. i own two old gpz's a 1984 a1 gpz900r and a old gpz550 and both are more fun than any other 80's bike i have ever owned the 900 will still do 160mph and you can get you knee down and the 550 is just as much fun as the ypvs .. so i think your full of poo mate

bits ordered from Norbo, so suspension and swing arm should go together very soon, and lets see what the stafford show brings !, no luck on the BAY, keep getting outbid on those precious things .

well i had a few hours free over the the last few days (off and on) and after the welcomed pack from NORBO containing my suspension seals etc, i set about getting this lot put back together have a small hurdle to cross with the shock i bought a few years ago at Stafford , as its not from an RD, i have had to machine a solid brass bush to make it fit the linkage, ill post some images when i get the time, i also chose to have my brake discs plated,..........bad move! as you can see from the pics for some reason the zinc wouldnt take, i think it must be down to the residue from the pads, as the inner section of the disc worked just fine the outside just blistered abd you could fetch it off with a fingernail so a bit of work had to be done, so i masked off the centres, shotblasted off the crap plating on the braking surface, and added a touch of yellow trim in the handy groove provided, should look the dogs when its on a yellow wheel .

got a sample off a mate, 1m x 300mm, and this has done the rad cover the two side panels and still have enough left for a few small bits, it wraps well with a little warm air from a heat gun (careful though).....good luck ,enjoy!

well done, it looks like your've gone to a lot of trouble to get that carbon look so spot on, i dont think i would have enough skill for that, with your eye for detail its going to be very nice.

cheers ken, i was surrised how easy it is, just take your time, and heat up the vinyl to form it over corners etc, and use a very sharp knife for trimming (scalpel blade) and you cant go wrong
