Changed the left engine cover as the threads for the adjuster cover needed sorting out. Fitted gear lever.

The five minutes brake pad fitting job took a lot longer as the Ferodo pads needed some adjustments. I had to repaint the machined surfaces.

Le numΓ©ro 4 est... vivant ! As we say in France: As long as it's smoking, it's getting grease.

I have took the bike out on Saturday and the front end is much nicer now. I am running 16mm preload spacers, and filled with 15W fork oil. Filled to 90mm from the top while compressed with no springs fitted.

Fitted modified aftermarket throttle cable. Oil pump lined up perfect π Hi Rob, out of interest, do you know what the correct outer length of the oil pump part of the cable should be and is it the same for LC and PV?

Not sure about YPVS cables as never used one.
I used a Hi-Level throttle cable and cut off about 8.5mm of the adjuster sleeve. Will post a pic of the piece cut off plus 1mm for the cutting disc width.
You also have to file the flange on the end of the pipe so it drops into the recess on the top of the clutch casing.

I absolutely applaud your ingenuity. You have potentially saved me a good few quid there. Thanks.

So after an absence of a mere 34 years, today was my return to the motorbiking fold on Number 4 LC! What an absolutely superb job Rob has done on this bike, above and beyond my expectations. I wanted a very nice example LC as that was out of my reach when I was younger and perpetually short of money, so it's nice to have such great bike now!

Filled to 90mm from the top while compressed with no springs fitted. Did you make the spacers? Standard fork springs? I have Hagon progressive springs in mine, no spacers. Still a bit soft IMO.

Someone else used 20mm and the new owner was not too large so went for 16mm. I also use 16mm spacers in my 31K forks.
