Stunning work, and really bespoke. I can see why you called the thread a slow burner, so much special stuff to do! Thanks. I've had Covid and a slow (not yet over) recovery too, so progress has been intermittent. Next couple of weekends I'm away too so thankfully I mainly work from home and will try to get some time in the workshop. Once the squish is measured, I can sort base gaskets and look to assemble the top end. I'll probably put new bolts in too which may require some disassembly work too I guess. I have also been distracted with the thought to buy a Valve, but that was trumped with the potential offer of a 1989 EXUP that hasn't been run since 2013 - 1 owner etc that I just might be able to get my hands on locally - my fingers are very firmly crossed on this one. Will need an ignition system and some carb jets plus new Koso clock prior to hopefully firing up. Covid is still around, just seems to not be reported any more, we have some guys off at work with it, i hope you have a good recovery. First of the Exup 1000's? Great machines, i had an 88 Genesis and 91 RU, ballistic fast for their day and solid. Good luck with requiring, I would love another but 28 tyres is already too many to look after.

Strangely in my gasket set I have x2 base gaskets and one is 0.5mm with the other measuring 0.6mm - good eh!
Will check what I actually need and get some proper ones.
Aiming for 1.1mm - 1.2mm Squish.

My mate had his R1 a short while back. 50th Anniversary, 06 plate with 1500 miles or something silly - like a new bike that's just sat for years.

Nice work! How do you get the LED indicators to work properly? Do they come with some adapter gizmo?

Nice work! How do you get the LED indicators to work properly? Do they come with some adapter gizmo? Alex I have an LED specific relay that I hope will do the job. These come with an in line resistor set up, but I’m planning to ditch those in favour of the one main relay..

There will be a slight interlude in proceedings as I have now sorted the EXUP so that should hopefully be a quick turnaround to get it MOT'd and sorted - what have I just said! IMG_7725 by KTM Marky, on Flickr

I agree! But perhaps a bit of reflector overkill?

It’s coming along very nicely, do you intend to use the Nikon pipes or will you be getting a set made to suit the bigger cylinders/porting?

EXUP is complete and about to be moved to free up the ramp for the Hybrid.
Need to remind myself where I left off - check Squish & source decent base gaskets of the correct thickness, I think.
Need to start thinking of carb jets too..
