Horn bracket bolted in on stand off spacers with a couple of brake line P clips behind it to keep the brake lines away from the extended steering lock frame tab Steve

Next thing was to sort a f*ck up I'd bought the rear caliper and bracket as cbr400 tri arm but after it's all been blasted, cerakoted and rebuilt it doesn't let the wheel go fully forward without hitting the arm Surprise, surprise the caliper and mounting bracket are off the earlier bike 😡 Luckily the correct caliper and bracket seem to line up, just a slightly different caliper and angle Ready to drop off for blasting tomorrow Steve

Hmm... the amount of times Ive bought stuff cos i found a throwaway comment in an old thread or from my memory that it fitted... only to find it wasnt the exact model I needed and then had to buy again. The joys of modding!

A bit more faff for the caliper, compressor, spray gun and Cerakote out The spraying bit is straight forward, it's the cleaning up that's a faff lol Steve

Looking Steve,, maybe I’ll try ceracoating one day,,,or not 🫤 I'd say if you are going to do it regularly it's worth the investment The hardest bit is keeping it thin enough in the nooks and crannies without it running on the bits around it. Almost like airbrushing all the intricate bits first then wafting over the rest to get a decent coat Oh and the bigger the bottle you buy the cheaper it is but it goes far and only has a 12 month storage life Steve

Those areas are hard to get the powder in to as the stuff is attracted elsewhere before it can get there. Thats why so many parts get very over coated as people try to push powder into the nooks. What youve achieved looks great mate. nice work.

Joking aside this build does look lovely all new a sparkly. Steve, youre doing a great job as ever mate.
I really think as a group our builds have really come on over the past 10 or so years, there is a lot of amazing workmanship on here, always was but now its even better.
Im certainly not complaining about that, its other people's builds that inspire me to do my things better and make me think differently so im not just copying and all that means that im always learning.
Keep doing what you do mate, better n telly!

Front brake tonight
Actually went quite easy. Used vacuum to fill the lines and calipers then worked the lever for 10 mins
Then sucked more fluid through each line then again worked the lever till no more little bubbles appeared
Tied the lever back for half an hour then went back, steering on full left lock to get the holes at the highest point then worked the lever again and a load of air bubbled out
Perfect lever now 👌

Filled a battery with acid last night and let it settle over night
Popped it in the bike tonight and apprehensive switched it on
Amazingly everything but the indicators worked straight away
First thought was the indicator relay but after trying 6 x 3 pin relays with no success I stuck a 2 pin one in
Now I have left indies but no right. Quick check with a multi meter then confirmed with trying a new switch it seems the switch is the problem
Who needs self cancelling indies anyway 🤣
I'll have a look another time but need to strip the switch
Bigger fish to fry, currently fitting an LED headlight into the rims so I can button that up

Who needs self cancelling indies anyway 🤣 I'll have a look another time but need to strip the switch Bigger fish to fry, currently fitting an LED headlight into the rims so I can button that up Steve Sometimes if the switch has been rebuilt you can have a ground issue with the brass 'tangs' that the inds use to earth the system. This can cause the inds to either not work on one side (cos they never make contact with the tang) or work weirdly if they sometimes make contact. The switch parts are actually quite sensitive and more complex than you'd think at first look. Anyway, know its simpler to just pop another in, but something to look at when youve more time (Boxing Day perhaps lol) and worth knowing for those who come to this thread later.
