I've got 1 big problem with that statement 🧐
My wife's a civil servant 🤣
Not a fat cat mind so her pension won't give me a luxury lifestyle 🙁
At that level I look at it as part of their terms and conditions. The pay isn't great
Just like me getting a new car every few years
Those mega paid ones, that's a different story

People having a dubious past, your example of Carol McGiffin really disproves that logic doesn’t it !!!
Sweden haven’t had the success you suggest and still you give no credit to the nations that have eliminated the virus, do your best to explain it, you won’t because you can’t, it disproves all the funny farm theories
you have people in America being turned away from hospitals because the infection rate is so high, again where is your proof of a collaboration of all the governments and all the medical, nursing staff of the world giving out these so called falsified numbers, it’s NOT HAPPENING
I’ll believe in what I wish to believe, you believe in yours and we’ll both be happy
It’s been fun sparring with you, however I think you’ll agree you and I will disagree
I’m not going to be swayed and neither are you, in the end one of us will be right
I wish you no harm at all and I hope neither of us catch this virus
Take care stay safe and stay well Mr Earthman

It's not the point as to how much anyone pays into their own pension scheme, you can put or not put as much as you like or can afford, your choice... its the fact that public funds are used to top these pensions up that is the point... it's wrong. I took my own pension plan out when I was 20... it promised all. But delivered nowt.... oh, it wasn't just Mr Brown who conviced me to stop paying in... predecessors had their part. It's an equitable life, the gamble failed... I should of bought a pile of LCs and spares..... NO! thats morally wrong to treat them as investments... they are to be ridden and cherished not used as a pocket lining, personal gain exercise. A family friend was paid a civil service final salary pension of very near £50k.... and considering his retirement age (fifties) what sort of message does that send taxpayers besides "f**k you". How many got the same golden public funded hand shake?? How many ground troops could it of paid for?? And dont give me he worked hard for it.. lots of people graft hard for their daily buck, they retired at 65 and got the same pension as everyone else. The near £50k was an extra pension on top of the one everyone gets.. Oh dear... I believe I've shown my political leanings....drat, another socialist scumbag... (mask wearing half wit as well)

Steve I kind of understand where you are coming from however I’m going to disagree. When I joined the police in my 20’s (late) I was earning £30k + pr year had a company Mercedes etc etc I have all that up and earnt 15k in my first years as a copper. When I left I was on mid £40’s I did loads of training lots of exams and did an incredibly difficult job that left me with ptsd and extreme situational stress. I was burnt out. I dealt with a side of society the vast majority never see. Death, murder, abuse etc etc etc I say all that not for sympathy or even empathy but that was the job and career I chose. The vast majority of the social sector do jobs lots others wouldn’t or won’t for pay that generally is lower than an equivalent in the private sector. Both my parents were teachers neither had a particularly brilliant pension despite contributing for 40 plus years. Yes some will get state pensions way over private, yes the public purse does remunerate some (one of the reasons for working in the social sector is because you know the pay may be crap but the pensions are good). Oh and by the way I’ve never voted for any other party in my life (champagne socialist) 😁

I'm now getting really insecure thinking my wife is hiding a £50k pa pension from me and is going to leave me the day before her 60th birthday (oh no that's another agro point but hey ho that was the retirement age when she started there 30 years ago) 😭

I wanted to join the police, but their policy of discrimination forbade it. I dislike any form of discrimination. It can now bee a 4'10" slip of a person of any self identifying sexual orientation. (They were on quite a bit more money than I at the time, and it was a safer bet job wise than contracting and it was an actual career.. ahh well.Shit happens)

All I know is that there are thousands of people around the world who are feeling the same as me, you just can't keep putting folk into lockdowns and take their civil liberties away etc for reasons that clearly don't add up/make much sense, folk won't continue to put up with it, civil war/riots will follow. This and all the other aspects I've mentioned are more worrying to me than this virus is. They've said that every one in two people will get cancer, that's 50% of the population, now if this virus had been any where near those kind of odds, I could understand lockdowns/harsh measures.

You have to wonder why you can only buy some items from a supermarket here in Wales, yet others you are not allowed to buy, the items are on the shelf, I just don't get it! how the hell is what you buy going to make a difference to the infection rate, your in the shop anyway for essential items, its madness.

Yes it looks daft. Rather like the "No dogs allowed because of hygiene problems, except guide dogs" Well.. guide dogs lick their arse just like any other dog.... I just wonder why it is so difficult for "shop for essentials only" to be understood? The less time you are actually shopping is lessening the odds, but if you'd rather be perusing Asda's shoes or jeans or beard oil selection, then kick off about it. Me? I'm in there late on when near empty and out as quick as possible. I get beard oil on line. Common sense.

I am glad you have read the list and understand it, cause I don't, what 1 person calls essential is not the same as someone else's list, alcohol is not essential (unless your an alcoholic) but you can buy that still and tobacco, yet you can't buy a jacket if you need one, some people can't afford to go elsewhere so have to use ASDA or Lidl or Aldi. Myself I don't have a beard so no worries there, and if I did I would not use some poncey oil on it.

If it were really about safety/time spent in a shop, why not limit the time for each customer period? Personally I think it's more about forcing folk to order/buy these goods on line, Amazon most likely being the prime candiadate here,......I'm sure that Jeff Bezos mission is to eliminate all the other competition at the end of the day. I heard on the radio that the Welsh minister is going to look into this now, let's hope that he sees sense and lifts this restriction, it just doesn't make any sense and shouldn't have been put into place from the start.

How about we turn the trip to the supermarket into a "Supermarket sweep" competition. Does anybody know a tame spiritualist? Be good to get Dale on side, I'm sure he'd be up for the challenge.....
The only thing on the radio I believe, is when they give the time.. Similar as the papers except its the date and not the time.

Hey earthman
You have something we agree about
Jeff Bezos and Amazon, apparently his personal fortune grew by $48 billion USD between March and June this year due in part to Covid
You could well be right, insane money

Personally I really don't get why any one person/family would want that much of anything. I wouldn't want the burden of it,...I'd be giving a lot of it away, no hospital would be lacking any equipment then.

We agree on that too
As soon as I had enough money to see my days out comfortably I'd be out
Maybe it's an obsession with business like some of us with bikes 🤔
We can only ride one but keep buying building them 🙄

Same question to Veg and Steve.

I aint loosing sleep over that one! They have just found water on the moon. Well its either water or frozen piss (Maybe Mr Armstrong was busting for a slash and took a waz behind a moon rock or in a hidden crater) Well that's if they actually went to the moon and didn't film it all in a NASA studio....as many believe and can prove... somehow... against all evidence to the contrary...
