Cool. Give them a good clean out with switch cleaner, especially the sliding switches.

Great news on the switch, and as it matches across the loom connector you know its the right year etc.
That is actually a really nice condition switch, most of these lose their writing quickly and the sliding action of the light switch wears the black paint. I would be tempted to touch this up with some satin black paint rather than strip and repaint the whole thing, the reason i say this is that all the decals for these switches are way too fat, like they used BOLD or the wrong font when making them.

Right folks what should I expect to pay for a used original mudguard that needs painting ? Few on eBay at the moment two at £60:00 ones damaged cracked. Two at Bids ones got bracket bolted on others got it riveted on which is correct ? What would reasonable price be plus £10:00 postage

Don't think around the £60 up is unreasonable if not cracked

So same mudguards but one came riveted other came bolted on. £70 ones cracked which I could plastic weld and be good again but think £60 expensive for damaged muddy.

I thought only the 85 N model came with bolted on front guard? Certainly the Aussie 85 F1 came riveted.
Re the 88 CDI, thats the 3HM is it? FYI Instead of locating the 52y-50 and PV conroller you could fit a Zeel/Iggy, cheaper maybe?

I think the nut/rivet thing is strange Even if you look at the parts diagram it shows a plate with captive nuts. I've never found this. Only nuts and washers. Yes the 88 combined is 3hm1. I actually have one of them spare but got knows how compatible with the stator it is Steve

Red, green and brown are high/low speed windings
Orange is coil feed
Black is earth
Black/white is kill switch
Black/yellow is pv controller/tacho signal
White with green trace and white with red trace is pick up coil

You did well. I was at Newark and was amazed at how many private stalls there was. Bought a few bits for garage, only LC stuff I got was a UK headlight and an NOS kidney clock under case for a YPVS kidney clock. Not as cheap as yr bargains though, but still happy.
