Cleaned behind my baws π
Even found a pair of brass balls to fit with a blob of thread lock
Back on the bike now. Think I've found the knack of getting them off and on now
Although I will say I haven't fitted the airbox rubbers as I'm a sh1tbag in case it still doesn't run π€£

Fired it up and sounds better
Hard to tell how good as airbox rubbers still off but fired up straight away and sounded nice on choke
A bit woolly with choke off as it heated up but without the rubbers it will be way out
Seems to run enough for an mot anyway. Need to get the rubbers on and the bodywork π

Looks very good that Steve, top job!
P.S. Those FZR 250 indicators from China you put me onto are an extremely close match for the original items but with regular wiring.

Popped home from work for something
I thought dry sunny day - test run bike up and down the street.
Still very choked up but riding. Was thinking when warm and opened up it might clear it's thought
Second run up the street it dies like the ignition has been switched off.
Now not sparking - Bugger π
Looks like weekend mot is stuffed now π‘

Looking really good Steve I love the shape of those pipes And the gold wheels really set it off. Hope you sort the problem. Dusty Cheers Dusty I'll find the problem one way or another Hopefully not the cdi as it runs a combined cdi and pv controller. I changed the loom as the fuse box was butchered but the one I fitted was near mint. Again loom is different to all the others but I had ended up with a spare as took a gamble on a 250 loom and it turned out it was wrong for what I wanted but right for this bike Only other things I've done is fit a pattern coil which is my first suspect as the bike wouldn't go over 4k and was very woolly. Didn't do that before and I refurbed the switchgear so coil and kill switch are on the radar I also like the pipes but God knows how they perform. As far as I know they are tzr250 race pipes so may be a bit of a screamer. Downpours are tapered and BIG π€ Time will tell. Just picking new plugs up for it now as I'd fitted 8's and should be 9's I'll get the tank off tonight and check the connectors Steve

Well it lives again π
(for now anyway)
I checked the engine was still earthed- it was
I fitted the new plugs just in case the others were fakes - still no spark
I wiggled the stator connectors - sparks came back π
Still starts without choke so I need to check the choke is actually closing
Other thing that occurred to me is I checked the pilot jets and they were marked correctly but it had pods. What if they have been drilled?
Will need new ones to check

Stator issue? Who'd have thought..... π

Hopefully found the issue
I switched it on earlier and no neutral light but it would start
Wiggle the wires some more and neutral came on but then bike would not start
Found a 2 way black bullet connector with bullets that wobbled in them. One is the engine earth, the other the earth to the cdi/pv controller
Cleaned up the male bullets and crimped the female side a little
Switched on the ignition and it backfired straight away without touching anything
Starts now and neutral light ok when wiggling the wires π

Just rode it 10 miles to the mot station and back (it passed π) It runs like sh1t lol Think it's carbs so I'll get them back off and down jet to see how it affects it May also sling a different set of exhausts on it just in case it's the pipes as they are tzr. The ride itself is good. A lot more comfortable than I thought it would be. Bars are higher than the other ypvs's with clip ons I've ridden. Suspension feels a lot better than a standard bike. I've fitted Jack up tie bars but the standard rear shock is different to the f2. Not a 1ua part number. Nice and nimble Steve
