Hi all Hope you had a good weekend Well after lots of guess work and numerous test prints, finally got a tail light / brake light housing design that matches the shape of the rear seat hump moulding π The final moulding will be printed in ABS and will be bonded in place, and join between the two mouldings tidied up. And has been designed with an 11mm hole to neatly house this tiny combined brake tail light LED. Another problem solved and another 1000 to goπ Have a good week all Best wishes Al

Hi all How cool is that! Highsider Proton micro rear tail / brake light fitted in the production print Also rather than bond it in place, decided to add three mounting studs to the design to make it a separate removable assembly, as thinking may leave it in the raw printed state rather than paint ? Have a happy Xmas all Best wishes Al

Thanks Dusty / Alex
Thanks for the πππ
Project has come on leaps and bounds this year.
Still got a bespoke exhaust to sort and thatβs a big cost for the project, so while I am saving for this going to crack on with a wiring loom over the next few weeks as now got all the ancillary parts other that generator / ignition system that will be covered by a new Vape system (stator CDI regulator etc) when the time comes.
Have a good Xmas all Al

Hi all Bit more sorted this week on the project Wanted to make a start on the wiring loom but first needed to lay out all the key items in their final positions such as lights, horn, handlebar switch gear and ignition switch which are now fitted The only other key items to mount on the bike were the battery, fuse box, charge regulator and flasher unit. Wanted to fit these all items under the seat hump so spent some time this week designing and printing a battery box and an under seat tray in solid black PETG to mount these other items. (Even printed a dummy JMT LFP01 lithum battery too in PLA so that I know the battery will fit when it is time to source one) Seat hump fits over the assembly with no issues and all the parts look nicely hidden away I think on the final build will fab up a lower panel that fits on the bottom of the set hump moulding both to tidy up the lower hole of the seat hump moulding, and keep the dirt out Can now crack on with the loom itself Catch again soon Best wishes Al

Put a Li Ion battery up there Al & you'll not even notice it. Half the size too or less.

I put a conventional battery back on the hybrid as the Vape apparently doesn't like them..

I been running a vape and JTM on the Yellow Peril with no issue
I thought the it was Li-Po batteries that did not like bike charging systems due to the need to carefully control charging currents and cell balance
Found that it when researching anti gravity batteries (that are true Li-Po) and they warn that they can only be used with modern solid state charging systems or there is a risk of fire or explosion due to overcharging β οΈ

Blooming looming lovelyπ Once all laid out, terminated and tested with a spare battery will add loom clips to the frame etc then wrap the loom itself with the correct non adhesive loom tape to finish it off as the Koso clocks and Vape system will be added as two separate sub looms Best wishes Al

Brilliant as always Al And 3d printing is gonna change our lives for sure ! I weighed a standard lead acid battery for an Lc once - nearly 2.5kg. The JMT Li Ion I replaced it with weighed 500g - a fifth of the weight of the standard one, and obviously smaller too.
