Thanks lads, always appreciated Wire guide part 2 I then drill a 6mm hole and mark out where to cut the steel plate SDC12029 Cut and shaped (this is so much easier with the wire attached) SDC12030 I then used a couple of pairs of pliers to shape the wire to the desired shape SDC12018 The end result, ready for zinc plating SDC12031 I made a few as I need 2 different guides for the rear of the engine (carb overflows), and a different shape for my generator guide. SDC12015 My production line was running at 4 guides per hour, don't expect to see me on Dragons Den any time soon Cheers, Mark

Zinc plating I've finally turned that corner, where you stop fabrication and you move on to re finishing and assembly- the part we all really enjoy These pics are about half of what I sent for bright zinc plating (other projects). It takes a while to repair damage, clean and polish the parts. SDC12016SDC12017 Cheers, Mark

Love the wire guides, thanks for sharing. Not wanting to undermine the rest of the thread, but sometimes these little bits add a lot of value. Not cost value, but value. If you know what I mean! Keep up the great work, and keep sharing. Please.

Youβd definitely pass the MOD apprentice trade test π blimey, that brings back memories :0) , I did that test and passed, so did my apprenticeship in the REME, that wire test was an interesting one, take a peice of wire and make it the same as the drawing in front of you, iirc it was a triangle, 2 twists, then a circle, then 3 twists and finished with a square - or something like that - it was over 40yrs ago since I did the test ! BTW Mark, clips look great !

I feel like I've passes the MOD apprentice trade test, yet I don't have a clue what it is . Anyway, thanks chaps . Zinc plating - part 2 I used a different platers and was happy with the turn around and results. Over 300 parts were bright zinc plated- Β£10 cheaper if I undid all the copper wire! SDC12033 SDC12034 This image shows my wire guides, and Kawasaki H1/H2 right hand caliper conversion BZP parts SDC12035 I also did a few sets of footrest hanger bolts, for future projects SDC12036 Powder coating next week Cheers, Mark

Powder coating Here's the first lot of powder coating in gloss black. Great result using Dusty's contact, there are some pimples that appeared on the left of the frame. It will be under the side panel, so I'm not worried. SDC12019 Followed by the satin black SDC12020 So once the new suspension bearings, wheel bearings and new tyres fitted, assembly can begin, which is one of my favorite parts of the build. I'm also getting close to the engine cases being vapour blasted and the engine being assembled Cheers, Mark
