It was Elsie's birthday today. Firstly all the clutch/brake bits arrived. Then 2 large boxes. Stunning. Just stunning. What surprised me is I'd forgot to drill the bolt holes in the mudguard but Mark did it for me without even mentioning it. What a top bloke. Back to the clutch I put all the new bits on and have discovered a new issue. The clutch push rod isn't pushing in. As I slide it in it is hitting something metal inside the engine. Any thoughts lads and lasses? Alex

Paintwork looks ace as usual mate. Another big part of the jigsaw ticked off How far in does the rod actually go ? Good chance there is a witness mark where it sits within the seal. That will give you an idea of how much it is out

I measured the rod today as per Rob's instructions. That's fine. Dusty popped over just now (cheers matey, glad the new clocks work) and he thinks it might be the clutch actuator itself. Could be off an A/C bike. Plus the casing itself was very awkward to fit suggesting the actuator is engaging as you fit the case! We shall see...

Just got in and checked an Lc casing in the shed. I think yours has an aircooled actuator fitted in your casing - different to mine (which has 4l0 scribed on it as I thought). I think I have a spare - will check tomorrow and if so it's yours

Wonder why someone put an AC one on there, just goes to show, you never know what you're getting, until you strip it down.

I'll put my hands up to that one. Almost certainly I put it in, thinking it was LC. They do look very similar. But the problem is now solved!

The new brake and clutch levers are on. Need a cool evening to pop over to Dusty for that part. I'm SO tempted to fit the bodywork but it's probably for the best if I wait till everything else is done.
