Mouse came over earlier today and I'm very glad he did. We have come to the conclusion it is the right drive but it's missing a component. There's a washer with 2 tangs that sit between the drive and the wheel in order for the thing to rotate properly and thankfully there was 1 on eBay. Ordered, should be here on Friday.

Sometimes all it needs is a fresh pair of eyes and a bit of detective work. Good work. I hope you made Mouse a brew (and with a biscuit of course)

His usual coffee. I neglected to offer a biscuit as I don't buy them. Schoolboy error.

A "Haribo" platter is what you should provide Mouse. The "Breakfast of Kings" apparently

Are you confusing Haribo with 8 pints of Guinness?

Carried on today. Thought I'd better fit the horn bracket Al made for me before I did the headlight. On the Mito forks there is only one hole drilled on the yoke, for the speedo cable guide, so I drilled another. On goes the new horns, wasn't sure of the position I wanted them to be at first. But the with the headlight in place they need to be at a more jaunty angle... Not like this as they'd smash into the mudguard! And ended up plonking the clocks on. Alex

Making good progress now ๐
Will an LC horn bracket and cover not bolt to Al's bracket?

Will the horns not hit the front muddie when the forks depress ? ( last pic with them hanging in the "6 o clock" position)

Morning mate The standard Lc "way" is they stick out sideways; 20180301_160209 by dusty miller, on Flickr I think they look great mounted that way, and if they can sit higher and nearer to the headlight they wont look out of place, imo

Are you confusing Haribo with 8 pints of Guinness? Alex Could be I always got gout when on holiday so itโs either the haribo eaten on the road trip or the bevy when on holiday

Turned the bracket over... One thing puzzles me. Why is there only one bolt holding each horn on? Does everyone use Loctite? Also made a start on a infill panel to house some electrics... Alex

If you look at the horn brackets there is one bolt hole and a small locating notch on the edge of the bracket that locates onto a small pin
I'd see if an lc bracket goes on Al's mount as it would allow you to fit a horn bracket too which is another LC identifying item

The horn bracket has turned edges (solid on one edge, just partial on the other) that create a solid recess that the horn bracket sits in when its bolted on. Its well worth dropping him a line and asking, but I would expect that Al made his mount to hold the OEM bracket. Get the bracket and a cover and it'll look much more '350 LC'.

Thought I'd fit that speedo drive tang today. Managed to heft the beastie back on the stand. Wheel out, tang and dust cover in. Then removed the stand and went inside. Then it dawned on me I should have left it on the bloody stand and checked if the speedo worked! Dammit. I'll do that tomorrow. Next job is to fit the engine. This is so close now I can smell the 2 stroke. Alex

Good news mate. And leave it on the stand for engine fitment. Much better to fit the engine with the bike level. Unless you have a paddock stand ?
