I decided I needed a day off. Totally knackered but after a decent nights kip I found some time to do a bit to Elsie. I was armed with an Aprilia RS125 speedo cable (length 720mm so should be fine) and my offset sprocket from Dave. I didn't get a pic for some odd reason but the cable fits perfectly, so third time lucky! If anyone wants a brand new Mito one... Then the sprocket. After flattening the tab washer I looked for a 32mm socket. Shazbot, I don't have one. So I tried an adjustable spanner and was mildy shocked as the nut was done up finger tight!! So I put the new one on (ordered a socket) and prayed all would be well. RESULT! Lined up perfectly!! Alex

Looking good mate. Tyr the "straight edge" on the outside of the sprocket faces - to check you have clearance on the inside of the frame rails above the swingarm pivot

Armed with my 32mm socket I did the nut up. Tight. The sprocket is ever so slighty loose, it needs a washer the size of, well, the locking washer. So I ordered 2 from Norbo, along with the horn cover and some oil line clips that I could have sworn I had but can't find them anywhere.

The sprocket is on. I used on tab washer as a spacer and it worked a treat. Checked the alignment three times just to be sure! All is good. So now I need a chain but I need to move the rear wheel as far back in the swinger as it'll go. Putting a bike with no centre stand onto a paddock stand on your own is not possible. Or is it? Anyone know something I don't?
Still scratching my head about the twin horn set up. Re-read some earlier posts and I need the actual bracket. Another Norbo order has been, err, ordered.
Also bit another bullet and bought a new Mito mudguard. From ze Germans. Not cheap and I bet customs sting me...thanks a lot Boris you f**king w**ker. Once that arrives I'll be in touch with a certain painter to get Elsie some spangly bodywork!

Easy to put a conventional paddock stand in no time single handed. Jon

I agree wth Jon that the front chock is a wonderous device.
But, I can paddock stand a bike on me own... its hairy tho, you need to hold it upright by the grab rail and stand on the paddock stand. you can put the bike in a corner or a block riser under the stand as well to help, but it is fraught with danger... get the chock, its much simpler and ive never had a bike fall over from mine. Both it down if you can, can you drill the floor to make a removable point to locate it I wonder?

Thanks chaps! Had a look at them and it took me a moment to see how they actually worked. Simple but effective! All look the same, all made in China (sigh) but I've ordered one from a UK seller.

Wheel chocks are great
If I park it up in winter on one I alway fit a tie down strap from between the bar clamps up to a roof joist as you can knock them over
As Jonw said you can put it on a rear paddock stand withe the grab rail
I leave the side stand down and always err on that side when holding it by the grab rail and hooking the stand onto the bobbins
You soon get the hang of it but best practice without the tank on just in case π¬

Yes Matt. It's his. I love it, especially the pipes!
Chock should be here Saturday. Maybe. Not going to try putting it on the paddock stand without it!

The new muddie arrived. I was expecting customs fees, courier 'handling' charges, VAT import tax and to sell a kidney but the bloke handed it to me and buggered off. Brilliant! I'm now having chats with Mr Cordwell about paint. Exciting times! Alex

I decided against the twin horn set up and mounted a smaller single horn under the tank - still plenty loud enough.
I've a twin horn assembly here needs a new home.. and a belly pan and nose fairing.

Yes Colin. A while ago I contacted them asking for conformation that this is for a 125 Mito. The reply was 'sure, why not'. After fruitless hunting I had to ask them again and a girl called Sarah said yes it is. And it is too. Alex

Glad you got the fairing. I'm not sure about the price for my mudguard but hey, it's brand new and the only one I could find. Plus I avoided any import fees. Wish I knew how...

Forgot to mention. Mark quoted me a price. I accepted. It was quite a bit cheaper to send him my plastics as all he has to do is supply a tank. He already has a full set painted up, so all he has to do is paint my mudgaurd (no decal needed) and send it back. Hopefully a quick turnaround. Dosh sent, every part wrapped up and boxed, will be posted tomorrow. I can't wait!
