Dusty, the throttle cables that Norbo sells are perfect, and about £30. I fitted one to my standard 350LC and checked it against a genuine cable, the was no difference in any measurement.

Hi Mark Thanks for the info. Good to know that. I think £100 for a genuine cable is a bit much ! Shame that this pattern one isn't good enough Dusty

I had the same problems years ago with a pattern throttle cable, only mine was too short and wouldn't let the slides close fully!
She is looking really good Dusty, July??

Hi mate Hopefully July Gonna order a throttle cable from Norbo so hopefully get that fitted this week, along with the loom. I've got a window of a couple of weeks before the shed arrives so thought I would try and move it on a bit before that. Dusty

In the garage today, and although I've been spending time on the pv hybrid down the shed, I did think I could spare a bit of time to fit the loom to the Lc. Schoolboy error though - I should have fitted the loom before the airbox I originally thought you could squeeze the connectors through the gap between airbox and frame but it wont happen, so if I get time tomorrow I'm gonna whip the carbs off, loosen the box and hopefully connect up the loom, at long last !! She's been very patient !! 20170926_220235 by David Miller, on Flickr Also treating both bikes to Norbo's stainless lifting handles - even though there is no centre stands fitted ! Thought I would give them a light polish first. Seriously thinking of fitting some round mini indicators like I have on the pv as I like the look of them. Dusty

It wont take you long to loosen the airbox and fit the loom, especially with all that room you have now . Even that image of the bike doesn't do it justice - it is a work of art mate

Cheers Mark. I've been spurred on by my mates brother - the guy with my old 400 - whatsapping me again to sell it to him !! I was a bit embarrassed to tell him I hadn't touched the bike since he last asked me ! So I thought I would fit the loom at least When you got your week off ? Dusty

Note to self: Always fit the loom before anything else !! Spent a good few hours today removing the carbs, loosening the airbox, removing the headlight bowl and then threading the loom through and connecting it up. This loom is a later replacement - possibly a "Yuni" loom. Most connectors are the same but a couple are different which isn't a problem really. I had to repair a 4 way plug which holds the 3 whites and a blue from the generator. I've also got to extend some wires for the rear indicators as they are too short, and also repair the wiring for the indicator relay. I did fit one of Norbo's stainless lift handles which arrived today; 20170928_144831 by David Miller, on Flickr Hopefully get a battery next week, and providing all the electrics work then I can try and fire her up - first time since the engine rebuild. 20170928_144803 by David Miller, on Flickr Dusty

Just went through the entire thread. What a bike! Shame a lot of the pics are missing but I love the way it looks now, white LC's are my fave and just the right amount of chrome bits too! Very nice work mate.

Dusty.. A question regarding your front bake master cylinder and Brake pipes, Is there a splitter or some kind of joint that will allow you to have one brake pipe from the Master cylinder to (splitter) then to Callipers?

Hi Cheers Alex . Thanks to Photof**kers, a lot of threads have been ruined on here. I have all the pics saved and will redo them all, but it's a long drawn out process Morgy, there was a splitter fitted to my orange bike that I have just removed so I can fit twin lines. It bolted under the bottom yoke, so yes you can do that if you want. Dusty

Any advantage to having twin lines over a single thats split?

Hi I think twin lines look neater (personal preference), possibly less areas for air bubbles when bleeding if there is no splitter involved. I don't see any reason to split the lines on my bike, and as I need new lines for it I'm just gonna buy twin long lines for the front - probably cheaper too ! Dusty

Haha, cheers Veg The new Motobatt arrived today. Bolted it straight on and everything lights up , apart from indicators Gotta mess about a bit to see if I can work out whats up. Also filled up the gearbox oil, and found a very slight weep from the case below the area of the kickstart so will need to sort that . New Yamaha gasket so can't understand it. The initial start up may be a bit longer than expected ! Dusty

Looking good dusty, now get it started!
Wouldn't worry about the oil weep. My last build did the same. Nipped the screws up and it stopped
Seems the gaskets compress a little at first

Hi Steve Bolts were as tight as they would go unfortunately. I've just dropped the oil so will pop the case tomorrow and have a look. I had deliberately waited to sort the oil pump and add coolant until I knew the case was oil tight so it's not a big deal really. Cant have an oil leak on my newly built engine !! Dusty

Hi Mark That's very kind of you . I will let you know how I get on with it tomorrow. I've got an Osteo appointment Wednesday - done my back again on Saturday morning Bloody killing me at the moment but I can kneel by the bike for short periods. I'm not convinced the indicator relay is any good so will have a look through a few boxes for a spare. Dusty

Getting close now Took the case off yesterday and found the culprit for the oil weep. There was a bit of powdercoat on the case mating surface that I hadn't scraped off previously, so a flat Stanley blade cleaned it up and all bolted back on with another new gasket and water pipe "o" ring ! I removed the oil pump and attached the clear feed pipes - a lot easier with the pump out of the case, especially with the fiddly securing collars which take some wiggling to get on. Cable fitted, and pump adjusted so another job jobbed !! Gear oil back in today and check the case is oil tight and then I will fill up the 2 stroke tank. I've sorted the electrics too. Headlight is back in, and I had to make up some wires for the front brake light switch, plus extend wires for the rear brake light switch and they both work fine now. Indicators - I managed to get them to light up but not flash - I had a few spare relays - only 2 out of 7 worked at all, and those 2 wouldn't flash. I also wasn't sure if I wanted to fit round indicators like on my other bike so for the time being I've removed the indicators completely and will come back to them after the MOT. So as long as everything is ok, the last jobs will be bleed front brakes, add coolant, fit petrol tap to the tank and prep and spray the oil pump cover when it arrives - hopefully today. Hope to fire her up at the weekend using premix in an auxilliary tank first, to double check everything before the petrol tank goes on. First pic with a headlight lens fitted !! 20171005_075522 by David Miller, on Flickr And oil pipes finally sorted; 20171005_075531 by David Miller, on Flickr Dusty

Hey Dusty, that really looks superb, one of the best LC's i've ever seen!
Don't forget, if you go for an MOT without indicators, you need to remove the indicator switch from the switchgear, apologies if you already know this!

Mouse Not true, I've MOT'ed at least 3 LC's without indicators with the switch fitted all passed with no issues. OEB
