Snap! I have a pink KR paint set recently done waiting to go on. Painter said he thought it would not be very good, but when it was finished he changed his mind...he even had other people asking for pink paint jobs too :-)

The new caliper turned up, 24 hours after ordering it, from Performoto (Biketorque); 20170810_143049 by David Miller, on Flickr And I'm pleased to say it is exactly the right one for the Tyga hanger. Thanks Tobyjugs for the info Bolted in place; 20170810_144200 by David Miller, on Flickr The paintwork goes for decals next week so hopefully wont be too long now. My spare clock bracket went for powdercoating yesterday, and just heard it's done so I will pick that up this morning. Gonna play around with the clocks/handlebars a bit today - may change some things. Dusty

Hi mate Good luck with the Physio Hopefuly you are now over the worst - knee certainly looks better than it did ! And I did have a slight fitting issue with the caliper the same as you did - I filed a "flat" into the upper most part of the caliper - the tiniest amount, and then the holes lined up I really like the look of this set up over the standard Rgv rear brake. Hope all goes well today. And wish me luck too. My next door neighbour is having a big tree cut down - high enough to reach the shed if it goes wrong Some Pikeys knocked at his door offering "odd jobs", and now they are tree surgeons !! Hence to say I am spending my day keeping a very close eye on it all !! Catch up soon. Dusty

Dusty That's interesting, perhaps the tyga caliper hangers are not quite as accurate (i had the same problem) in their dimensions as they would have you believe?? Still, does look a lot nicer than standard RGV Hope they havn't got a TPO on your neighbours tree!! Physio went ok, got a few things to do (exercise!!!), then back in a month for physio up date and to see the knee specialist re and op Mouse

Hi mate Tha amount removed off the caliper to line the mounting holes up is minimal as you know, probably less than half a mil so easily done with a couple of passes with a fine file. Glad the physio went well. Make sure you do the exercises !! As for the tree, they never turned up. I would like to see it down. Its a xmas tree my neighbour planted years ago. It makes a lot of mess with constant needle drop. Ive trimmed it a few times but the remaining boughs are now to big for me to do safely so it needs an expert. Trouble is the neighbour wont pay expert money 😣

I haven't got it yet !! Mark said decals next week but that all depends on how busy they are, then it's back for lacquer, so could be a couple more weeks yet for me. Might be worth sending him a text. I've got his number if you need it Matt. Dusty

So today, I av mostly been messing about with the clocks ! I collected my spare clock bracket from the powdercoaters today. I dropped it off yesterday and was lucky to find they were doing gloss black in the afternoon, so really quick turnaround ; 20170811_104211 by David Miller, on Flickr When I built the clocks originally I had the bracket bent into a more upright position as I liked the look, but I have since changed my mind, hence going back to standard. Here you can see the difference between standard and modded; 20170811_110219 by David Miller, on Flickr And on the bike, modded first; 20170811_104538 by David Miller, on Flickr Then back to standard, with the bracket mounted below the yoke mounts this time; 20170811_143126 by David Miller, on Flickr Gonna keep it standard now. Hi Mark Definitely right there, and I spend tooo long on small details Got some parts from Norbo yesterday; 20170811_123437 by David Miller, on Flickr Just waiting for some inlet rubbers to arrive that I won on ebay to complete the conversion back to airbox. I also whipped my balls out 20170810_102754 by David Miller, on Flickr 20170810_103350 by David Miller, on Flickr I will completely strip the carbs out today and ultrasonically clean them. They are a set I won on ebay a couple of weeks back and although they look pretty good they will get the once over. I'm also messing around with the headlight position. Now the clocks are sited below the yoke mounts, the headlight needs to move down, but that will close the gap between the headlight and the horns which will look better I think. It was never quite right how I had it before. Dusty

It's daft I know but I get really excited when I get new parts, like a little kid but I guess that just shows how I'm enjoying it..got some parts for my carbs this week from Allens performance new choke assembly £10 I then ordered new needles and new float valve assembly's thought it would all be about £30/£40 as the choke was so cheap, was shocked to hear £90 gulp however they were all genuine makuni so worth it in the end I think.. my new regulator arrive which was my main part this week I'm not riding her again until I fix charging problem so was gutted to find it didn't cure it, however it forced me to do more research and I found the black wire going from the regulator went direct to the green from the stator, when according to Haynes they both should be going to earth. Changed that and now get 14.5 volts at the battery - fantastic! I've read a few threads on here talking about removing the brass balls, that looks scary, what does it do doing that dusty? Cheers Mark

The angle of the clocks looks much better. Are you using one of 'NK's' top yokes or RGV?
Good luck with the carbs

Removing the brass balls uncovers a drilling in the carb body that often gets blocked. I've ultrasonically cleaned carbs thoroughly in the past, and then found that drilling is still blocked after removing the brass ball, so now I get them out before cleaning. Quite easy to do with a pillar drill. Just centre punch the middle of the brass ball, and then part drill with a 2.5 mm drill and you can then wiggle them out. Hi Andrew, The top yoke is an Rgv modded by NK, so there are 2 Lc style clock mounts so you use the standard Lc clock bracket. Dusty

Today's job was carbs. Total strip of all removable parts, then in the cleaner for half an hour each. Then dry off, check the passageways that you can see with Wd40 to make sure they are clear, then reassemble. These have been apart fairly recently I reckon as they looked pretty good to start with, plus the emulsions slipped out easily and it looks like new float bowl gaskets have been used. 2 new brass balls and they are ready to go; 20170812_135132 by David Miller, on Flickr Dusty

Today's job was to give the exhausts a light polish. There were a couple of rub marks on them, plus they had tarnished a little, so a quick going over on the buffing wheel had them looking like new again; 20170813_113554 by David Miller, on Flickr Pipe on left has been buffed - you can see the difference; 20170813_114312 by David Miller, on Flickr 20170813_114507 by David Miller, on Flickr Dave - Muttsnuts - is making some 6 inch cans for me which will be about half the length of the standard cans that came from TSA. These will be in aly so will give those a light polish too. Dusty

Yea, they come up well, just polished stainless. I don't go too shiny on any bike parts as it's too much work to keep them that way, so just enough to look nice and easily polished with a rag and some solvol every now and then. Dusty
