Thanks fellas, Just trying to keep up with you lot !! There are so many lovely bikes on this forum for sure My reed valve gaskets arrived today, and my Yam inlet rubbers arrived from Malaysia yesterday; 20170817_150049 by David Miller, on Flickr 20170817_150045 by David Miller, on Flickr So all fitted. I semi polished the cross over tube too; 20170817_155855 by David Miller, on Flickr Another part I though I would change are the footrest hangers. I like the look of the hangers I did on my Lc engined hybrid, with the rear footrest cut off. I had one spare footrest which looked like it had been butchered by a gorilla - lots of deep scrapes and gouges, especially along the top edge. So I got all "medieval" on it with the sander, and then finer grades of grit, done by hand, and tomorrow it's ready for the polishing wheel; 20170817_182327 by David Miller, on Flickr Once that's done I will remove the hanger on the other side and chop the rear rest off. Hi Mark, Yea, dirty job but worth it Been busy with other stuff lately so not had much shed time I need to get some larger main jets for the carbs for the TSA pipes before I fit them, plus I need to get a new throttle cable. I decided to fit an Rgv style front master cylinder to match the Rgv calipers. I overhauled this with a new seal kit ages ago and cleaned up the body of the manky paint; 20170822_141946 by David Miller, on Flickr I also shortened the fluid tube on the rear cylinder - looks much better - and added an ally bung from Ebay; 20170822_141522 by David Miller, on Flickr Dusty

Hi Fozzy There were part of an HRC kit I had which is specifically for brake fluid. The tube was quite long so I cut it in half and used it front and back. If you search Tygon tubing on ebay it comes up with the clear tube but I think you can get coloured stuff. Hth Dusty

Have the HRC tube on all my bikes, designed specially for brake fluid. Strangely on most bikes it fine, but on a couple it sweats fluid, which it shouldn't. Can't remember where I bought them from(I do the same as dusty-cut in half)but it looks like some are genuine and some appear to be copies(as they sweat) Chinese copies of everything, everywhere!!! Have also used Tyrgon tubing to good effect, but beware not to curve it much as it will link.

NK does a hrc kit with a billet mounting bracket which I have used on mine v nice but you do have to drill and tap the frame

I bought my HRC kit off ebay a fair bit cheaper than NK. I'm not a fan of the really long tube or the bracket that screws onto the frame - looks a bit bulky to me. I still have the long tube on my other bike but will cut that down now I know it looks ok. Dusty

Hi I have a bench grinder and 3 x 6"mops that I bought from Kempton autojumble, something a bit like this; www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aluminium-Brass-Alloy-Steel-Bench-Grinder-Metal-Polishing-Kit-6-x-1-2-/291392509813?epid=1241208272&hash=item43d858d775:g:~2IAAOSwXz9ZluUQI took one of the grinding wheels off and fitted the spindle adaptor on and you are good to go. I don't go for mirror finish personally but with a kit like that it wouldn't be hard to get good results. I've polished some pretty bad scratches and gouges out of fork legs before with a bit of effort. Last time I had a set of fork legs polished professionally, which was a few years ago, it cost me £40 so the kit would pay for itself after 1 job. Lasts quite a long time too although I need to replace a couple of the mops now, but I've done loads of parts with them so think they are great value. Just make sure the central disc on the mops is made from a strong leather or similar material as the cheaper mops end up spinning when you apply pressure to them. I bought some cheap mops off ebay once and they were next to useless. Also make sure your bench grinder is powerful enough too - mine is a 450 watt and seems to handle all I throw at it. A bit of trial and error but it's a great way to improve tired looking parts, and on ally especially the results can be amazing Dusty

Posted the pics on another thread today, and thought I would update this thread anyway The paintwork is back from Mark Cordwell - picked it up today - really happy 20170828_121252 by David Miller, on Flickr Wasn't sure if it would work well with the white wheels on the bike, but I think it looks good; 20170828_145634 by David Miller, on Flickr I will decide for definite when it's all fitted. Always thought this bike would be a bit more "lary", so the white wheels look ok. I bought a nice alloy petrol cap from Norbo for he white hybrid, but think I need another one now; 20170828_121424 by David Miller, on Flickr Dusty

So now I've decided to use an Lc loom on this bike, thanks to some good advice from forumers. Annoying thing is I sold some good Lc switchgear cheap not so long back, and now need a pair, so Norbo to the rescue; 20170831_133549 by David Miller, on Flickr Glad I didn't flog the spare Lc loom I had !! I do have an Lc ignition switch, reg/rectifier and an old Lc loom with some useful donor connectors so hopefully no more leccy parts to buy. Also bought another billet pet cap, plus a pattern pet cap that gave up it's internals so I could fit them to the billet version. I'm also gonna change the indicators to some bigger, billet ones that look a bit more "Lc", and I think I will go with new standard pegs too. This quick revamp is getting out of hand !! Dusty

That works really well Dusty. So bold and striking. I don't think I've ever seen that combo on an LC. Fab choice

Looks brilliant so far Dusty love the orange. I'm also doing my second hybrid orange, but I think it will be a bit darker burnt orange candy with the same stripes as my red one. Yours is stunning in every detail mate keep up the good work!

Cheers for the kind words fellas Really pleased with the paint. As I say, it was a bit of a gamble regards colour and decals. Originally the decals were going to be outlined with a white stripe, but I let Mark decide what looked right and we ended up with a black outline which I think looks great. Need some more parts to complete the revamp - brake lines, speedo cable, throttle tube, end cans, indicators, throttle cable and probably something else I've forgotten ! Using the Lc loom and electrics will free up room under the tank and put a lot of connectors in the right place. I'm following Bryan's lead and intend to put Lc connectors onto pv components where necessary to make connections easier. Watch this space !! Dusty

Hi Changes are still being made ! I loved the flat Renthal bars I had on the bike - they had originally been anodised black but I polished the anodising off, and really liked the look. Trouble is it puts the clutch cable at an awkward position from the perch, and also makes it difficult to get the hydraulic hoses orientated correctly as they are so close to the fork tops. So I decided to copy the set up on my white hybrid and go with ultra low rise Renthals. Before : 20170913_144450 by David Miller, on Flickr And after; 20170913_160242 by David Miller, on Flickr Bars feel more comfortable too. You can see I've fitted the Lc switchgear now, plus an Lc ignition barrel. I'm going to change the grips as they have blue in them that used to match the paintwork, but now it's orange I will get plain black grips. Also just ordered an Lc throttle tube off Norbo as it differs to the pv item. I also tracked down some nice alloy fluted indicators. I wanted to go with something a bit more "Lc", and although quite small, they are at least circular !! I only ordered the fronts as I wasn't sure I was gonna like them but I think they look good so have ordered slightly longer ones for the back. These were on it originally; 20170913_150736 by David Miller, on Flickr And these are the replacements; 20170913_153329 by David Miller, on Flickr 20170913_153322 by David Miller, on Flickr Dusty
