Ready for powder coating 250 D Restoration Project

Thank you guys its not far off now. 8) 8) i've the brakes to bleed but tbh i might leave them for a while as i'm planning to put spoked wheels on the bike
Atm i've to check the timing,do a refurb on the seat,and basiclly do the two stroke oil pipes and all being well we're away.
I've been working on the seat latches for a while, i've manage to get a key cut from the number on the cover i've replaced the butchered cover with one from of my spares its better i think

So its getting to that time in the build to start and put the fluids in so now the gearbox is full and the 2stroke oil tank is full. i filled the oil lines using a syringe filling them first prior to fitting. Some times this may leave a tiny bubble but it doesn't bother me as when the bike is running you can visually see it moving along the line confirming the pump is actually working 8) 8)


So for the time being its now waiting for the fuel which is planned next w/end free to fill the tank turn on the fuel and hopefully start the bike up
I've still alot of work to do with the seat which is proving to be a pain in the arse i'll update you folks later

Thanks for the advice folks 8) 8) i'll add some oil to the petrol the pump has had a full service with Gaz Arrow so i'm happy that it should work fine.
Now i'm confident the petrol tap don't leak and functions correctly ( Thanks Merv)
this is how i tried and tested the tank tap "seal" and fuel tap with the fuel running out into a can

and after a Night and full day the tap seal don't weep 8) 8)

i'll be ready for the w/end and get it started assuming the carbs don't have a fit for the first time fuel's added

Well as far as cosmetic side of things the bike is completed, 8) i'm well pleased with the outcome, Atm i'm hobbling around on crutches as i've recently had an Ankle operation which gives me some quality time at home and a rest from the mad house

Some time ago i acquired a set of spoked wheels of which they'll be fitted during the winter or early spring ready for the summer I've laced the wheels and are ready for truing up. the front i did it first time however the rear was done on the 4th attempt

The original seat has had major surgery and still awaiting my attention which now involves fitting the cover etc, not a big job but it'll have to be some quiet time while i do it as i've not done a covering before. i'm planning to do within the next couple wks so in the mean time i've used the pattern seat hence the seat strips not being fitted.

My plan was to have a tidy bike at the end of the build not concours as it seamed to a bit of a bitsa unknown to myself however with the help of you guys we got there in the end. All bolt fixing etc are stainless with polish heads, removing the numbers from the heads, any original bolts,screw are with forum members Foc (you know who you are) thanks at least they ain't gone to waist.

All thats left now for me is to sort out what i see is a carb problem :-\ :-\ and an annoying electrical problem The fun starts Now





and i said to Sue put something sexy on for the lads she said i have "i've put pink fluffy slippers on"

Lol mate i didn't put the chain on as i'm fitting spoke wheels and didn't want to get chain oil on the new chrome

ive got a carb here if you want it ?
came with loads of lc carbs
or got a load of 250 lc carb bodys if they run better on those air cooled bikes
and i like the slippers sue !

You can re spoke wheels.....the elec and carb probs will be no bother I would not even attempt to mess about with spokes.....it would end in tears And quite possibly something being beaten beyond recognition with a lump hammer.....
