Started on the paint stage of my tank underside rubbed down, haven’t got a sandblasted so wire wheel and hand sanding leaves very small oxidization in indents in steel, so hydrate 80 rust cure to convert any remaining rust. ![](https://i.lensdump.com/i/855Y92.md.jpg) 2 costs cured ![](https://i.lensdump.com/i/855MW9.md.jpg) Next epoxy liner

Bilt hamber hydrate 80, I've used it on jeep, sills and winch bumpers bought a bumper for my Cherokee the add said needs a little work, anyway 3mm steel but looked like it came from the Mary rose when it arrived, treated with flap wheel so pitted, treated inside and out with this stuff, didn't get bumper painted for a year due to too many other jobs, not a bit of rust broke through. Can be sanded and primed and top coated too.

No it’s waterbased definetly not petrol proof. I’m using Caswell epoxy liner I have silver soldered a couple of larger rust holes but the heat causes heat distortion which need repairing, still a small pin hole I missed

fed up looking at my petrol stained carbs. so new float valves and gaskets and japanese oem fuel tap from norbo. float heights adjusted, actually with new float valves they were fine.the old float valve springy bit just closed up when the carbs were inverted and the weight of the float was on it. brass balls removed and a damm good cleaning of carbs. ooh what a difference. it now wont start without choke, ticks over when cold and doesnt smell of fuel.

Two weeks holidays- what's that like? Got bits back from the blasters- now have to educate myself how to do these sliders 'factory style'....something about ScotchBrite... ![](https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-TmBbzL7/0/dba84fe7/L/i-TmBbzL7-L.jpg) ![](https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-QwGzDbV/0/49c7b9c0/L/i-QwGzDbV-L.jpg)

thanks copper..a little compact and bijou..and a bit embarrassing really now I look at it- that was just the radio....not sure why I put it up other than I think everyone can identify with the the fact that it was the weekend and sometimes there's just no better time than to be in your own place....alone with the bikes...

Went for the factory look on the sliders- not 100% convinced.......but when you stand back a bit....heh.....not three bad. it's hard to tell from the pics but... above: vapor blasted- (yes I know- maybe could've/should've just left them like that) below: attacked by a red scotchbrite wheel and then calmed down with a light rubbing of 000 rated steel wool and then....a cloth. will probably go over it once more to get a more uniform brush look and then at some point spray it with 2k matt clear. or not. jury's out on that part. ![](https://www.chrishudsonphotography.net/Motorcycles/1982-RD350LC/n-g3wnnB/i-LMHwDjP/A) ![](https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-LMHwDjP/1/0b9ffd19/XL/i-LMHwDjP-XL.jpg)

Finally... nearly 6 years after I bought a basket case LC, it's finished and booked in for a road worthy next week! It runs a bloody treat, and everything is done bar the paint job as I'm buggered if I can decide what colour, so it's flat white for now. Happy days ahead!

Finished spray painting my frame - etch primer, 2k white coat followed by 3 coats of 2K red.
Stood back admiring my handiwork when it slowly dawned on me that i will have to strip everything down to the bare metal and start from scratch again.
You see, in my zen-like state behind the spraygun - i managed to continously mix 2 parts paint, 1 part thinners and 10% hardener.
At least i managed to get a nice flow going without orange peel.

This week end i went for a ride on the speedway track in Lelystad. It looks fast but in reality i am captain slow. ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) Clipons and limited steering help to keep things interesting. There was also a nice bonfire Saturday night. ![](https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1845/29661121907_417582fe09_h.jpg) ![](https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1893/44548734632_a73a774b5b_b.jpg)
![](https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1856/44600311751_8b95f85c6e_b.jpg) Kees and me waiting to go out on the track Weather permitting next bit of fun will be on the circuit in Zolder. Then its time to do some maintenance on the engine.
