Hi bud, Most platers are dead against chroming used exhausts, no matter how clean you get them. I am restoring a 70's AJW Greyhound sports moped, and can't find a chromers to touch replating the exhaust, as they say it will contaminate their vats. Hopefully you will have better luck than I have. Chromed swarbricks would look awesome đ, I have a standard black pair on my 4L1, lovely sound too!. Good luck mate. bezzer AG Brigg re-chrome used exhausts. OEB As ever OEB, you have the info to hand!, many thanks for that. Whereabouts are AG Brigg situated?. Best regards Iain

Yes, remember them well. The garage I used had the oil next to the airline and both were free! scruff - remember the air tube stretched across the forecourt, that rang a bell to alert the attendant when you ran over it? đ, blimey, I'm older than I thought!!.

I was thinking back this morning, and I have a vague memory of petrol stations in the past supplying two stroke oil when you filled up? This was pre autolube days, so I think the they just used to use a little jug. I started riding a two stroke in 1986, but this was before then. I must have seen it as a kid. Is my memory playing tricks on me or did this used to happen? Maybe it was a one off I saw and assumed it was the norm? Jon Hi Jon, No, your memory is not playing tricks on you. I had an after school job washing cars and serving petrol at our village station , in the late 70's early 80's. We had a 'Duckhams' 2 stroke dispenser, it had a pump handle on top, with a scale underneath that you turned to deliver the requisite ratio 50:1,40:1,25:1 etc). I remember an old gent used to come in with a 2 stroke SAAB that ran on 2 star petrol!, as well as all my mates on KH's, X7's etc. Out of interest, along with 2 and 4 star fuel, we also had premium '5 star' fuel which was 101 Octane đ proper leaded stuff!!. I was looking round a few sites that I have bought little bits from in the past and came across these. now I don't do 350's and know very little about them but seeing the cost of some of the parts and the regular chat about banshee parts I thought I'd share the link. never know they may be useful to someone. I use the site a lot and have never had any issues with the quality of the parts I have bought. www.banggood.com/Cylinder-Piston-Gasket-Kit-For-Yamaha-Banshee-350-YFZ350-1987-2006-p-1132514.html?rmmds=newArrivalsI apologise if these are total sh1te but I thought it wold be worth sharing Thanks Raven, good info there Bud, very reasonable price too.

Use Mobil 1(synthetic) ATF.. Yess. It's a Very ! good oil for these forks. Try it and see for yourself. Or not :-) Hi bare, Had a scour online, and it seems that we don't get the mobil1 synthetic ATF over here in the UK, frustratingly.

Never understood the hassle with multi policy.. Sure you can only ride one at a time..!! Exactly Bud!, Carole Nash seemed to get that point entirely, I guess the cover cost comes in insuring against theft, as theoretically they could all go in one hit!!.

On the way home from a night out in a dodgy part of town, a scantily dressed woman approached me and said "would you like to sleep with me for a hundred quid", without even having to think about it I replied "well alright, I'm not really tired, but I could do with the money"âĻâĻ

Hi Victor, This will no doubt stir up a lot of differing opinions, but in my case Carole Nash were brilliant. My 916, DRZ400, YZF750 and 350LC all on one policy ÂŖ260, fully comp, protected NCB, and commuting. I'm 49, with 10+ years no claims, worth a call bud.

A while ago there was an article in classic mechanics, about Padgetts, where they were allowed access to the stores there. Amongst the NOS were one or more of the helmets that were given to new owners of the LC as a sweetener for the delivery delay.

Paul, Sounds like you are going about your rebuild in the right way mate. Could I also respectfully suggest, when the time comes, that you contact a forum member on here named "arrow", who refurbishes oil pumps. He provides a fantastic service to fellow members, his attention to detail is phenomenal and your pump will come back looking like brand new. After the investment you'll undoubtedly put into your engine, it'll give you peace of mind that this essential component is working 100%, have a look at some of the testimonials on here. Money very well spent in my opinion.

Don't waste you're time going anywhere else. Thanks Gary top man. Couldn't agree more, Arrow has now refurbed 3 pumps for me, superb attention to detail, and the peace of mind is worth every bean.

Thanks for the top tip Bare, wouldn't have thought to lube the threads, albeit sparingly, but it does make sense.
Will investigate my options this week, thanks again bud.

Hi,
Can anyone advise please : The mirror post thread on my master cylinder doesn't look too healthy!.
I am thinking that this is the left handed thread (on the right hand handlebar), so with this in mind are there any left hand thread inserts available to repair this with?, or can any of you guys recommend a repairer if it is possible?
As ever, any help much appreciated.
bezzer.

Hi Paul, Welcome to the forum, you're in the right place for the help and advice you'll need with your bike. It really depends how far you intend to go with recommissioning, aside from the safety critical aspects, (brakes, tyres, chain) etc, bank on flushing the fuel system, ultrasonic cleaning carbs, freeing power valves, checking bores for surface corrosion, crank seals most likely will need replacing. It will all be worth it though mate đ.
Stand by for more knowledgeable members than me, to weigh in with advice when they see your post too.

I'd just like to thank Dusty for his efforts in taking parcel force to task over this sorry state of affairs.
If the item to be sent has openly been described as an engine component, and the post office have not disclosed at that point that the article is not covered, then surely, in this case they are in breach of contract with the customer?.
Anyway, rant over and lesson learnt, hermes it is from now on!.

I spent a week looking thought the freeads, gumtree, evilbay etc and managed to pick up an oven for ÂŖ15. Most modern ovens run off a household 3 pin plug . It now resides in my garage so no need to stink the house out for paint curing etc. Awesome idea nidgester!. I need to make room in the man cave for one of those!.
