So this pizza delivery guy came to me today for an mot on his Honda 100 scooter. "Can you have a look over it, I know it needs front pads" Well both fork seals were pretty much non existstant, yes the front pads were too and the disc looks a bit worn to me so I just went to feel the ridges and thickness of it !!!!! Hhhmmmmmm

Thanks for the info on the paint. I'll look it up. I tried something today with my rear mudguard and light mount. Dylon clothing dye. I've seen people dyeing skyway bmx wheels with it and they come out mint. Either I did it wrong or it don't work so forget that sh@t lol pity that as I thought I'd had a good idea

Very very nice. I pm'd you the contacts you asked me for, did you get them? I know most people seem to use bbq paint for calipers etc but I can honestly recommend smoothrite. It comes in gloss and satin but it's not that clear which is which. I got mine from euro car parts using the part number from their website to ensure it was smooth satin. It does go on lovely and is an nice finish. All the best ian

Thanks dusty. Yeah it does look nice. I made sure they come with black springs as I defo didn't want a red one. I was gonna go with a hyperpro as it comes in black and gold but have now moved away from the gold idea. (For now/again// lol) I had a couple of new ideas for the paint job come to me in the night but still undecided. Something traditional but with a twist. A friend of mine is good with photoshop so I'll get him to put the ideas together and see what works. The forks are stripped I just need to get them anodised then it's up on its wheels and can get all the brakes on and bled. I got some tarozzi Rearsets a while back but they just touch the Rgv arm, I can possible space them out or grind down the big pivoty thing on the back of the lever to clear it. I've got the ypvs master bracket from norbo but can see if it's gonna work with the tarozzis. Would really like to use them as they are nicer than originals, the pedals especially. Anyone done the same mods?

Thanks again for the comments. Just a bit of a waiting game for bits and prices sometimes. Painted the calipers and discs but not good enough for my liking so have stripped them and redoing them again (but more slowly and carefully) lol.

Thanks Jon. I was a bit unsure but now they're done I love them and the positive comments are reassuring me!! Can't wait to get them on now and see it coming together. Gonna try and get the forks either anodised or maybe powdercoated (anyone???) this week and get a new rear shock. Again was gonna go gold forks but I think I'll stick with black and silver now

Thanks you gentlemen. It's a chrome powdercoat. It goes on like proper chrome (see the vid above) then the laqeur dulls it a bit. I had my mind set on gold but then saw a car wheel freshly done in this colour so changed my mind completely (yet again!!!) now the paint job I had in mind is out the window too but I think I know which direction to head in now. Yah I think when it all goes together it will look better and better. Typically sent all the stuff for zinc plating today so won't be till next week now. Oh yeah also got another delivery today. Ooohhhh hello

Got a bit stuck for things to do so took the rest of the bolts, wheel spindles and seat catch backing a to get zinc plated this morning. On the way back I popped into the wheel refubishers and guess what? They were only bloody ready!!! Now I can't fit them in cos I ain't got the spindles!! Oh well. Bought some chrome right angled bolt in valves to finish them off but they are absolute shite. The o rings didn't seal properly and the valve cores disintegrated when I tried to remove them so had to CAREFULLY remove tyres and refit using traditional rubber ones (luckily I have fitted the odd tyre in my time!!) DO NOT BUY THESE FROM EBAY THEY ARE PANTS!!!! here's a couple of pics anyway. New disc, new bolts, new s20 bridgestones. Yum!!

Thanks again mate. We fitted all new bearings, had a lug welded on the frame for lock stops before powder coating and now it's all fitted one side lock stop bloody misses the lug. I'm going to build it up with chemical metal then just black smoothrite it over afterwards. I'll look into the steering lock side of things when I'm back to work. Thanks for the info, I hadn't even thought about that!!

Little Johnny was asked by his school teacher to use the word contageous in a sentence.
He said, "My dad and I were looking out the window at old Mrs. Johnson painting her fence and I asked me dad how long he thought it would take her, and he said that 'it'll take that c**t ages'"

Thanks jumpstart. Ironic name for this forum lol (as in all kickstarts) Nigel at Nk racing did all the mods so I am relying on his knowledge and expertise for it all to work. My lockstop on the headstock had been welded before and looked a bit pony so I got someone I know to weld a new lug on to tidy it up. Hard to tell if will all clear with no bearings or rad fitted but time will tell. Fingers crossed eh? Hopefully tomorrow I can get swinging arm, yokes, clocks, bars, switch gear, grips and maybe rear when in. Next major is forks anodised and still need to paint centres of front discs then they all go on.

Just got the call from the powdercoaters (hooray!!!). It's all done so gonna send someone over in the morning to collect it. Wheels are just waiting to be lacquered. Maybe tomorrow for them too!!! Only thing is now I'm off work for a few days so there it will sit till Monday at the earliest. I'll get some pics on tomorrow of what occurs.

Thanks Jon. I've got the 6 pots on my tl1000r so I know them but I also know they can be a pain to bleed. I've been reliably informed that a 16mm radial from an r6/r1 is the right price of master cylinderism to use for them. They are prob a bit overkill for such a light bike but I prefer the look of them over the nissins. They are more simple, after all, "less is more"??!! Lol we shall see what happens eh? Come on bloody powdercoaters!!!!!!!

I am actually in Northolt/Greenford borders and work in hanwell w7. As I say, I found a place in high Wycombe or my engine builder says he's got a top notch anodiser. This is the next step so I can get it up on its wheels so need to get on it. Cheers chaps!

Thanks dusty, nice one. I rang one local place and the woman said she needed a drawing to give me a price? Needless to say she will be getting a nice stickman style effort. Another local place said they don't do bike stuff and the last place I rang was in high Wycombe said they can do them hooooray!!! He said they do work for h m plant I think so should be good!!! We shall see. All coming together now so just waiting for powdercoating to be done to get stuck in. Still can't decide on paint job though !!??!!

Powdercoating still not done but should be next week. Engine has had crank rebuilt, new pistons, rebore, casings vapour blasted. Just need to decide on tune etc. I think while its there I'm going to go the whole shaboodle and get it tuned, v force inlets, billet manifold and bigger carbs. I'm a firm believer in do it right=do it once so I think this is the right path. After changing my mind several times I think I've decided on at least the wheel colour. Was gonna go metallic Subaru wheel gold but I've seen quite a few gold wheeled bikes and when I was at the wheel refurbishing place (a mate of mines) I witnessed this. I rather fancy this now!!!

Also got my delivery from norbo today (thanks again!!) just waiting for powdercoating phone call then I can start getting it back together. I've made lists of things to get and things to do but just keep adding to it. Got a pair of nissin 4 pots en route and a pair of tokico 6 pots to follow cos I can't bloody decide and everyone tells you different!!! I prefer the look of the tokicos ignoring the fact they are 6 pots. They are cleaner and less fussy. Next biggish job is to anodise the forks then I can get it up on its wheels proper. Anyone know of any good anodisers in west London area? I can get the forks stripped apart and rebuilt so just need the anodising done. Something else I half forgot about again!!!!! Anyway next few weeks should see some serious progress hopefully (excluding Christmas of course!!) watch this space eh?[

Thanks, I asked him to copper slip where the discs bolt on so it should just peel off with a Stanley blade. Hoping for next spring/summer. It's only taken me 23 years to start it so........... Lol Coolant and oil tank in a bucket of tfr. 23 years of half a tank of rock oil 2 stroke has left a bit of a stain lol
