I was working today when I got a text saying my tyres had been dropped off at a neighbours place. Intersting invoice... Then a call from Steve (he got to my place quite early) saying he's left the yoke by my door and to let him know how it fits. Hmm. Had a test fit and it's worse. There is now no visible thread to put the lock nut on. I can understand why he's done this but the stem needs to come out and that spacer put directly at the bottom so the stem doesn't lose any height. He's coming back tomorrow for a looksie. Alex

Yep, wax is on the agenda. A wrap has been discussed before Tony and is surprisingly expensive! However even if it was cheap the amount of cracks in the paint would show through. However, if I can get rid of them all then a respray/wrap won't be needed.

Me too. I have some birds nesting in my tree. Used to be Starlings every year, now it's Pigeons. Needless to say I won't be setting up a camera Alex

Just been on YT and saw something about 10 interesting facts about Christine.
The 'beauty car' ie the one featured parked up and being driven very carefully was made on October 31st.
Spooky huh?

Not had much to report for ages. When it's dry she goes out, that's about it. But one thing that is bugging the hell out of me is the paintwork. UVs have cracked a lot of it, namely the bonnet and the drivers door and a respray is £4k. There has to be a way of fixing it. Then I thought of something. I have a tube of this, it's about 15 years old (note the price sticker) and I use it with great effect to polish plastic headlight covers on cars. Now this isn't T Cut and it takes a while to really polish stuff up...so after a good 2 hours graft... I am impressed. Ordered another tube, the same size, a tenner. I shall continue. Alex

Steve came round for a chat and then a decision was made about the yoke. He's going to remove the stem and add a flat spacer to emulate the LC yoke. He says he'll drop it off Monday evening. Fast! Good thing is he'll wait until we have a trial fit before he goes home, and that will take all of 20 seconds.
No tyres. Dammit.

No tax or MOT...really? What happens when the small child runs into the road to collect a ball then? Your insurance (if you have any) is void. Unreal.

Finally got one of these. As replicas goes this one is spot on. I did the usual research as to colour schemes and those pics are 100% for the film. Also has the correct number plates but some awful flame decals... This is the Plymouth Fury and not a Belvedere as some people think the car actually was. The Fury was made for 3 years with the funky interior and paint job, otherwise exactly the same cars. I made a drag car version years ago (I'll get some pics of that) and always wanted to make the real thing. Alex

Got the pesky pistons out of the knackered calipers using the ratchet method. I was amazed at how easy it worked. I'll rebuild this tomorrow. Meantime I had an amazingly short chat with Steve and he's coming over on Friday. Alex

I did have problems with permission to park the LC in the lounge, but once I had explained (for the nth time) to myself the valid reasons I finally caved in and gave the go ahead to proceed.
