Im on a roll now, got a new tub of elbow grease. The money side of things will hold me back in terms or paint, powdercoat and the engine rebuild but i can get all the fabrication done in the mean time Turning all the swingarm linkage bushes on the lathe at college in the morning and a friend down the engineering firm is going to complete my welding as ive only tacked it in place. Then just got to Make the wheel spacers Find out some front discs that will work, anyone know standard KR1S diameter? Rear caliper hanger and torx arm Make the microns fit and clear the swingarm Maybe rearsets of some sort Radiator mounts RGV top yoke Clock mounts Make the LC loom work with the YPVS gizmos Remake all the uncut bits on the subframe Did i frget anything

i can get u some measurments of kr1s disc's sean, unless headcoats beats me to it but do u need the bolt holes to match the rgv wheel,if it is rgv wheel m8.

Discs? Its a 3MA TZR front wheel so they will more than likly be 6 bolt yamaha discs but need to work out the offset from the hub and everything....

If you get stuck try ABE engineering www.allbikeengineering.co.uk/html/discs.htmlThey supply all types of discs, when I wanted some for my RGV front wheel I sent them the old discs & they fitted new wavey discs to my old carriers.

Update time. After a while off the forum i think it's time for an update. The LC got evicted from the ramp just after Christmas to make room for my Dads X7's engine to be rebuilt. Lost a ring pin on the lhs piston and fubared that barrel and head. So out the engine came, fresh new barrels with no extreme porting like the ones that were fitted, unknown origin. Nothing down low then all hell at 8,500rpm a lick of paint on the cases and a quick clean she's ready to go again. So back to stock and go from there. Anyway Elsie's now taken the main stage in the garage and im beginning to crack on with it again. Ive since finished the rear suspension linkages, all be it but the dog bones of which im yet to fit. The rear wheel is also in the swing arm now, just a few spacers where required to get it nice and centre, sprocket alignment doesn’t seem to be as big a problem as i first thought, so happy days. Next on the agenda is the rear caliper hanger. Currently using the old TZR125 4DL one but it's no good with my MV Augusta caliper, so I’ve drawn up some templates and will get to work on it once I’ve got some ally. Front end is also in now with the RGV VJ21 top yoke, this allows me to use the LC ignition lock with not much hassle unlike the KR1s yoke which would of required more work than the 6 million dollar man. All that needed was a small top hat bush to reduce the steerer tube hole diameter to suit the KR1s steerer. I still need to machine another spacer to sit underneath the yoke, but a piece of copper pipe will suffice for now. I’ve finished making the bracket for the YPVS servo whish sits nicely behind the headstock with good cable routing until i put the tank back on  so back to the drawing board with that one. Next job is to find an appropriate set of front discs that will work with both the 3MA front wheel and the KR1s forks and calipers. FZR400's are looking promising so far and have found a set that I can test fit soon. Enjoy the pics, comments welcome Sean The X7 Loom and ginger bread men  Side stand bolt thank you Norbo

Cheers Sid, His flag but brainwashed from a young age so i like them as well Good news my 'crons fit. Just will need to space the footrest hangers to allow them to clear the swing arm, but they WILL fit

Right up date time. Its 10 weeks to the day since I had my fight with the lathe and my hands getting better so on with the hybrid. Not a mass to update, but ive finished off the spacers I was making when it happened which have reduced the FZR400 bearing I.D to match the swingarm spindle of the 3MA swingarm. 20mm to 15mm, the wheel sits nicely now although I will have to machine around 5-7mm off the sprocket carrier to get it spot on central. Ive started to make some small bracing parts for the frame, I know they won’t so much but I think they look smart and as they say every little helps. Pics Couple from Mallory 1000 bikes, tried my hardest to blag a ride on this beauty but I couldn’t even pull the clutch in with my hand still. a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/263888_138691542878218_100002121192088_271166_7538131_n.jpg[/img]So the TZR had to do Before: After: The spacers that caused all the hassle Before: Now: FZR wheel in, 17 x 4.5 inch Currently wearing a 160 tyre, but ive got a 150 to go on Sprocket carrier will need a little bit of surgery, nothing to major That’s all for now

Ok update time So after swapping the tyres on the 125 i cracked on with some work this weekend   Working outside was easier as garage is packed right now Had to fill a gaping hole left by the German steering lock So i made a small plug from some 3mm steel Welded it in ready to be ground flat Job done Then my Dads friend showed up in his new motor. 1970 Dodge Coronet. 6.3 liter of yank tank Also tacked in the servo bracket i made

Update time Finished my sprocket carrier off this afternoon, snuck back into college to use there lathe. Took 7mm off the bearing face, so will change to a sealed 52x25x15 SKF bearing instead of a separate seal. Also took 10mm off the sprocket mating face. Im going to change from studs and nuts to simply bolting the sprocket in place. Looks cleaner and saves a bit of space plus can play with my new lock wiring pliars  Got a good chain run now to the front so i think i can get away without an offset sprocket on the front with enough clearance for a 150 tyre on the 17X4.5 FZR400 wheel. TZR125 4DL carrier, FZR400 wheel, 3MA Arm, MV Agusta F4 caliper..... Old vs new shots Bit tight Now Plenty of space now Also bought this, NOS tank for my RD50mxII, wrong colour but i bought it for the shape and obviously its solid Smokey Joe

I take it that almost any engineering shop should be able to machine my sprocket carrier down like that too?
Im not bothered about taking anything off the bearing-housing as the wheel is central in my swingarm (standard LC) but I could do with the chain-run coming a lot closer to the tyre to avoid a huge offset engine sprocket.
right now Im juggling spacers and caliper carriers on the other side as my FZR wheel has a 17mm axle, while the caliper carrier is 20, plus I need to take a couple of mm off the carrier to move the caliper out, filling the space with a top-hat spacer to sleeve the carrier down to 17mm
your lucky to have access to lathes and the like - Im having to take a crash-course in using my fathers hobby-mill - his lathe isnt big enough for anything I want to do except spacers
