So mange to find this bike 4 hours ago but missed out on it as the guy changed his mind. 4 years later my chance was almost lost due to a ebay messer and i was able to buy it. some of you may know this bike. with the help of dusty putting me in contact with neil hasking one of the previous owners and also a coulple of other contacts i have mange to find a bit more info out about this bike. the bike was in the 1999 crosbow calendar and it was also in pb September 1987 rear page and at the lc frency pb September 1988 orange photo was around 1991 I would like to do this bike some justis and try and refresh it and keep it kind of a mix of how it is now and how it was once before. you good advice will be needed please from the latest photos it looks pretty good and it is but it needs a bit of work as its got some old school stuff done to it such stuff the servo up behind the coil ect.

Looks like you have some work to do! Amazes me that someone would build such a cracking bike and then let it stand for ages...

I must admit, I quite like it as it is - very much an 80's hybrid, and "of it's time" ! If it were mine I would get the frame done in black, paint the rad black, overhaul the brakes coz they should be plenty good enough for an Lc, but cosmetically wise, I would leave it at that. A thorough check over and service is essential with any new purchase, but otherwise I wouldn't be throwing loads of money at it - looks great as it is Dusty

Oh, and an oil tank should go straight in once you relocate the brake reservoir, or use a Honda style tube for the fluid

I have an under coil bracket thats pretty similar to the one dusty posted, I made it from some scrap. I pretty sure my mounting holes are angled tho, might be some pics in my 251Lc thread still but well, Photobucket... meh.
Great bike, I'm with Dusty. Its a classic well known and hard to change bike and its in good nick as well... hmm...

You could go with a light polish, but I avoid going too mad - certainly wouldn't go as far as a mirror finish. As Steeley says, it's a nightmare to keep highly polished parts looking good on a bike. Dusty

Great looking bike. Remember it in its different forms. Couple of observations, if you get an hrc type rear master be mindful as sometimes the hose supplied is hydroscopic and ends up sweating the fluid out. And your front calipers are buggers t bleed generally they needing raising above the front master cylinder to bleed them properly ( in my experience). Going to watch this come back to life.
