Got a couple of hours tonight so got a few jobs done Cleaned the powder coat from where it shouldn't be on the top yoke and fitted the risers Next was to fit the bearings into the swing arm. Strange set up as needle roller on the left side but 2 roller bearings on the other side held in with a circlip and a top hat spacer so all secured on the right hand side Steve

Hi Steve why is the bottom rear shock mount slotted?

Hi Steve why is the bottom rear shock mount slotted? It's the way NK does his conversions. There are rectangular inserts that go in the slots. You get 2 pairs, one with the pin hole in the centre, the other offset so you get 3 ride height choices Steve

That wheel and disk combo makes me weak at the knees Steve... I'd snaffle those for a motard when youre not looking if i was in your shed

That wheel and disk combo makes me weak at the knees Steve... I'd snaffle those for a motard when youre not looking if i was in your shed Lol They are reminding me why I liked "spokey" so much (my 31k retro hybrid build) I'm waiting to see how this looks before I decide whether to do the same with my planned 250 lc ypvs as got a nice set of Yam 17" 3 spokes as well as 2 pairs of spoked hubs There deffo will be a "spokey 2, it spoke again" 31k π Got all the bits for that π Steve

Managed a bit more on this Had to strip the back end off as the inner muddy needed surgery to get it to clear the front of the arm Also got the engine fitted. I had built it about 3 years ago. New 0.5 over rebore, newly built crank etc Remembered to fit the lower airbox before fitting the engine π

Didn't get a call before Crimbo to say the calipers are ready but I'll chase up next week
Tackled a little but import and job that I'd stomped off in a huff over
I had checked everything was ok before the frame was powdered but when I fitted the yokes and forks the steering lock would not go on with the bars to the right
I tried removing the powder coat off the frame tab and painting instead and the same with the lock tab and still no joy
Finally got the dremel out and trimmed 1mm off the lock frame tab and it now fits π
Painted the cdi too as it was looking sorry for itself
Just about to tackle my favourite (not) job and fit a rubber to the replated kick start lever π

Put the rubber in boiling water for 2 minutes then (carefully) slide it on. This method works really well Steve.

If that fails, use some Armorall or other vinyl juice and then bang it on something that wont mark it and also twist it a bit now and then. It'll slip on a treat in the end but its tight.

It actually went on ok
Cup of boiling water, bit of spit for lube and it went on not too bad
My hands ain't so good, don't laugh but I've used KY Jelly before π³
Slippery but washes away and dries π
Just bought some pvc tape for the loose bits of the loom so that can get some attention

midlifecrisisrd in future try and nick some of the missesβ hair spray while sheβs out. It lubes while wet then dries sticky. I use this for stuff like that all the time such as handlebar grips. Jon
