Grabbed an hour or so today to do some work on the frame lock stop tab Need to do a little more dressing but sides built up with weld then dressed back Also reinforced the joint onto the headstock Once I mill the top yoke ignition switch tabs I'll sort the final steering travel and trim the upper tab to suit the steering lock pin Steve

Mill!! I remember the days when all you needed was a hacksaw and a file. Them fancy tools you have now have to earn their keep. 😉 Looking forward to seeing how you get on with the latest acquisition John

I have a rear master cylinder bracket now but looking at maybe welding it in 🤔 Steve

Needed to work out the front wheel spacers so fitted RD Speedo drive tab, retainer and oil seal along with an XJR400 Speedo drive Easier to centre the wheel in the forks with the discs in so fitted 3mm disc spacers behind the discs to allow the calipers to clear Worked out I need a 10mm spacer for the Speedo side and I need to make the fazer spacer I had in the other side 6mm longer Steve

Front wheel spacers are made, honest 😬 Finally had a go with the new milling machine First job was to take 12mm off the XJR top yoke ignition mounts, drill a 5mm hole in them and tap to m6 I'm no longer a milling virgin 😆 Steve

Got another hour today Front end on and off a few times grinding back the frame tab till I've got 5mm clearance each side between the top yoke and the tank Then marked up and cut back the top tab for the ignition switch lock to locate onto Steve

Got an hour today. Next issue is getting the rear caliper bracket to locate in the arm. Due to the hub being narrower than the cbr400 wheel it misses by 15mm Bought some 15mm x 38mm flat bar and milled the required 16mm slot in it. I'll cut a 5mm recess in the rear so it will sit over the original mount then get it welded on Steve

No wasted time trying to draw and explain to someone what you want 😆 Got the DRO working too. Spent £4 on new plug casings and it worked. Sockets in back of panel were fine Got £600 odd quid from the courier for the damage so ordering a new power feed unit now 😀 Steve

Looks like i need to send you the drawings for my brake pedal stop. Its fun doing small projects like this and the best bit is you dont have to wait on somebody. "Looks like i need to send you the drawings for my brake pedal stop." Oh no I've changed my mind i want within the next four weeks.

Been back on the mill Milled 5mm out the rear of the bracket then nibbled another 1mm out around the edge so it would sit on the chamfer of the old slot Then took 3mm off the top end to stop it looking so chunky Need to double check it lines up ok then get it welded on Steve

Very nice bit of welding, i don't think that will move in hurry Worth chamfering the edge with a fine file for a nicer finish.

Dropped the swinger, top yoke, bar risers, tie bar brackets, grab rail and engine mounts off for powder the other week, collected it yesterday I'd originally thought silver for the arm but it looks mighty fine in black 😋 Steve
