I've just been up in the garage loft to make some space for some garden furniture that my Wife said was getting cold. Couldn't resist a rummage in some boxes and now I'm rich beyond my wildest dreams! 😉. I've been looking on eBay at airboxes and came close to buying one then I just found one complete and one top section. Both complete with bits of air filter and snorkel. I have a cut down number plate holder already but just found these. One good thing about getting older is being surprised by something you forgot about. I also found a 4L0 top clock case and most of a Speedo. That and the complete but tatty set I have and the new cases should get me a decent complete set.

I've carted all the LC bits through three house moves including leaving my parents home and also had to ignore the Mrs whenever she told me to get rid of all that junk cluttering up the loft or garage.
I sat one night and listed all the new stuff I'd bought on a spreadsheet because I can't remember what I have and haven't bought already.

Nice stash find. Will pay for a nice holiday. Great progress with the wheels too. Hate that job! They will all be used when I've finished. The stolen recovered one was only about a year old when it was nicked. Some of the bits are like new but there is a bit of damage from decades of storage and house moves. I bought it as a rolling chassis, just slung together to sell, with no V5. Stuff like that was so cheap at the time, I paid £200, that it almost got thrown away a few times. I have about five sets of wheels and checked the price of scrap aluminium a couple of times with a view to cashing in. At no time was I really enjoying doing the wheels I tried to bear in mind that I have others to do hence the tyre changer and stand I made. I'm trying to make the next go at the job easier and quicker. I bought two sets of bearings and seals. All the bearings are good ones like Koyo. The seals are good quality but not Yamaha. They're not under any pressure and not safety critical.

The seals you have will be fine Steve... and in reality not *that* needed if the bearings are sealed etc.

I've spent a lot of time recently on the SR125 but in between I've still been doing bits and bobs on the LC. I bought a pair of chain tensioners recently off eBay. I have a couple of pairs already that I had chromed many years ago and I wanted some standard ones. These were a bit rough so I spent a couple of hours on them and I think they look ok now. They came with M8 nuts but they were 13mm across the flats. The 13mm always looks a bit bulky to me so I decided to make my own. I straightened them out a bit but there's not much I can do about the pitting other than a bit of sanding.
