Cheers Dave, I was saving these pics for later, but I kept most of the packets from the build
Later I'll try to list what's original, which will be quicker than saying what's new
I hope the missus doesn't see these photos about 20 shoes and 20 handbags I reckon.
I have the engines side cases back, so I'll post pics up soon.
Over the weekend I'll put the pumps and clutch actuator in the cases
The "polished turd" has been banished

Cases photo'd before I cleaned up the gasket surfaces which had gooey tape on them
I re- bushed the left case where the gear change shaft goes through. All new parts ready to assemble in my workshop
Right case with new screws I have a new oil pump to fit, and a low miles impeller with no shaft wear. Obviously new oil seals, bearing, gaskets
At this point I would like to thank Arrow, He patiently went through my pump settings for my set up [380cc, stage 2 SS tune]
He really is a top bloke and always finds time to answer any questions Thanks again Arrow

Cheers Cinder, nice comment - appreciate that. The bike is getting very close to being finished and I'm a bit sad really. I'm hoping the paintwork is going to be ready in the next 2 weeks but there's very little left to do. Side cases, fluids and synchronise the carbs and oil pump. All the electrics work and I've got a healthy spark. Seat has been recovered by the previous owner. I'll post up the pic's of the side cases on the bike later

New oil pump and fixing screws
New cover disc, screws and low miles pipe clips
New water pump bearing, oil seals for water pump, oil pump, kick start fitted. New water pump cover and all assembled. Yamaha have changed the oil line clips to bright zinc so 2 new ones fitted at the oil pump end. I have 2 perfect original black clips to be fitted at the carb end of the oil lines
More parts, oil line clips [bottle to pump], expansion tank hose clips, side panel grommets, carb float bowl screws/ washers and the kick start pinch bolt
Chain flap thingy. all of these parts NLA from Yamaha, Norbo to the rescue
Left side fitted, new pinch bolt {gear lever was new with the bike]
Right hand side
New oil pump cover ready to fit
I'll be doing the fluids in the week and starting the bike I will also try and take some more outside pic's

Jesus! There can't be much of the original bike left. You should sell all the old parts so someone can put another one together.

Yes, and I think those genuine NOS bags could fetch a few quid on ebygumbay. Good idea. If Paula Radcliffs turd sold on Ebay someone will want them. Do you reckon I could sell inflatable dart boards as well?

Good question, and I don't know if I've done a wrong-un. I'm not a fan of the green bits on LC's and decided to do the head bolts in bright zinc, then thought the engine might need a little more zinc so went with these screws for the outside of the cases [black screws for the plastic covers] Might change them all to black if I don't like the end result.

Managed a few pic's with the bike outside, bugger all sun though
Not had time to do the fluids and start the bike, mega busy at work and I'm away at the weekend - DOH

good work up to know mark a couple of pointers a guy on here bought a new oil pump off yamaha it had the wrong plunger seal fitted gaz arrow rectified that prob.so worth inspecting looks like a PV rad cap Thanks Marsbar, I know about the faulty batch of pumps, Gary warned me out of concern as you have done, much appreciated. I think Gary said the faulty ones have a different pulley mark to my pump so he said my pump was OK. He also advised on my pump settings [minimum stroke setting]
The rad cap is a surprise. Is it OK to use or do they have different pressure reliefs? I ordered a rad cap for my sons 125LC and that came with no "ears", so thought Yam just do round ones now Hmm I'll look into it. Perhaps someone could answer that as well. Mark

Mark AFAIK the winged or eared rad caps were replaced with round ones to allow the cap to be removed from the radiator without the need to remove the plastic radiator guard. OEB

Cheers for the info OEB, I had a feeling that was the case. It is a lot easier to remove the round rad cap, with the original I had to loosen the rad guard. You've saved me a call to Fowlers

Found some time to work on the money pit. Gearbox oil in Put some two stroke tank in the tank
Filled the oil lines up, back in the day this was called pressure priming
Cooling system filled
Set up an auxiliary fuel tank with premix in it. Oil pump fully open. I'd like to say the engine fired up 1st kick but it was more like 15 kicks - but it runs. Bought a little lump to my throat, why do Yamaha strokers sound so good?
No nasty noises, no clutch rattle, the engine sounds really fresh Struggled a bit to tick over and kept having to over choke to keep her going Temp gauge works and quickly thanks to the thermostat
Pic of oil lines finally fitted
Re tightened the head down once cooled
A few little jobs left to do but just waiting for the paintwork to come back

Wow, it's looking fantastic. Can't wait to see it with it's clothes on. What colour is it going to be? Cheers Bogbrush, Being painted blue as before which is my favourite colour. There isn't a standard colour I don't like on the LC and I really like the speed block paint schemes [white/red] and Kenny Roberts ones. I keep pestering my mate if there's any news, he says everything is prepped so I'm hoping for next week Ordered more bits today off Yamaha, last lot I think
I can't wait either, bikes been naked far too long

Thanks Sean, Deep empty pockets, sofa shaken out and mattress lumpy where my cash WAS kept. Plus a few sexual favours to the bank manager But seriously the build hasn't been too costly. A couple of largish amounts to Norbo, Ebay was bits now and then and Yamaha was slowly drip fed parts lists. Second hand parts are who I know, so great prices. Paintwork, blasting, etc all done for a drink, thanks to great mates. Stove enamelling cost £60 for both side cases. All the work on the bike kept me out of the pub - huge saving
Already planning the next project - donations greatfully accepted

Are you keeping this bike and selling the first one you started with? Slow down! I'm polishing 1 nut every 4 months on my rebuild. And sometimes I work on the bike.

Your right Steve, very much a trigger's broom. Oh and taking that long to polish your nuts - you will go blind. What's left of the original bike is -
Frame, swing arm, wheels, front mudguard, side stand, tie bars, clocks, h/bars, forks, yokes/bearings, headlight brackets, switch gear, tyres, seat, left engine cover, crankshaft, cylinders, head, flywheel, mirrors, indicators, fuel tap, no. plate, chain/sprockets, gear lever, 2 wheel spindles, rear light, rear reflector, twin horns, speedo cable, front tank rubbers.
Everything else has been replaced.

Been a while , I've had loads of work to do and my mate has had trouble with the paintwork. First some pic's I forgot
I've not done anything to the seat except re zinced the brackets, new nuts and a good clean
Finally got some paintwork back. Tank and front mudguard in Yamaha Candy Blue
Pattern side panels have lost their shape when the paint was heat cured! So not sure when I'm getting them. My old side panels have more cracks than a women's FA cup final so can't be repaired
