I've got 135 main jets at present shown at the top of the picture (slot head), I ordered 128's to try (hex head & longer), shown below the 135 jet, but as you can see thet are different and when I put the 128 in the exra length fouls and is no use. Can anyone give any info on why the two are differnt, as far as i'm aware the new 128 jet's are genuine Keihin with the star on

Hex head is later style, round head earlier version, thought you could fit later hex to earlier version carbs, but maybe not ... need to order the earlier version mains

would cutting the new, longer jet down to the same length as the existing jet be an option or is there a reason this would not be advised

Id just fit the correct type, no idea if shortening the jet is a good idea or not .

i never realised the orignal swing arm was tubes - learn new thing every day - cracking job on your swing arm .

Thanks vass, the swing arm is a good bit longer than the standard LC but have done 1500 mile on the bike now and quite pleased with how it handles
