CHeers Dusty, appreciate it, just got some more parts sorted for it yesterday so will be back on sorting it out foir full power runs in Septemeber all being well, hoping to have it running its full potential by December .......fingers crossed
The supercharged 2 stroke is easier to do, but there are draw backs, I did consider doing one, if anybody is thinking of building a supercharged one and want some info on how to do it, feel free to contact me as I have a lot of details on how to do it

Amazing. Simply amazing.
Took some doing to get this far, I bet this thread isnt even the tip of the iceberg.
Proper job, can't wait to see the next instalment.

Thanks guys, I've just taken delivery of some new parts for the next phase of the project and I am just working on some parts that need modifying to make it work better, hopefully over the next few weeks when time allows I'll be doing some updates on this thread with the next installment of my progress........

Any progress Dave?
What's it's like when it boosts? Like a powerband on steroids?

well its been a while since I've done any updates on the build, its not been forgotten or laid up in a corner, in fact far from it, its had lots of development work done on it and even more mods I've not got any pictures to show, but the bike has been on the dyno again and with the latest round of mods it made 5psi of boost, unfortunately I hit some more issues and need to make more modifications and adjustments, the exciting news is that its very close now, the principle design is working and the turbo is spooling up and making 5psi of boost around 6500rpm which was the target give or take. The next set of modifications will see it grow another turbo (yup twin turbo) and some special tweaking which has been necessary to get it working properly, but lots has been learnt in the past few months and I can see this thing being up and running for real next year, current power projections suggest something significantly higher than my targetted 80bhp, so the challenge for next year if it does work will be to see how long the gearbox and clutch will last - my betting is not long ! For those of you going to the Newark bike show in January the bike will be there on show all being well, fully naked so you will be able to see the turbo etc if that is your thing, or you just want to see some mad engineering on a 2 stroke ! BTW - it won't win any prizes for being pretty that's for sure !

great work muttsy, from what Ive read I think 80-100 will be fine in the gearbox, unless the delivery is very harsh, the clutch will slip tho any higher than that with this kind of delivery, so time for a locker. Excited to hear what its like to ride with a twin turbos fitted. My guess is that it will be perfect in a straight line... and trouser filling if you get a lot of boost mid corner. Perfect summer fun!

yes I will be there, not sure which day(s) yet, but definately Sunday as I'll be bringing the bike back home ! 4L04ever - yes, that is Dan's bike, he is in the USA and built it to be drag raced, it is only set up for 10 sec runs, so no oil pumps etc, its all gravity fed for the turbo etc - his engine was a custom built 535cc pushing 125bhp before he turbo'd it, his original target was about 180bhp, he was a tad surprised when it hit 270bhp ! The bike at the show will only have the 1 turbo on it, and all the plumbing of course, the twin turbo set is going to take some time to sort out and I need to get other peoples bikes finished before I can get back on to it, but I am hoping early to mid 2015 it will be running JonW - the power delivery isn't too bad at the moment, the boost comes in pretty quick, but I think I can smooth it out a bit as well and the twin turbo set up should hopefully make it more predictable as the boost/volume should be more linear (I hope anyway !)

Hi. I am new to this forum so i have not seen your build until now. Nice and innovative. I was just wondering about the lubrication of the turbo. Where is your oil-pump and -tank? What kind of pump, Electric or ? What pressure is the pump feeding the oil to the turbo? An finally : Does the oil-return actually works?? I am asking because it looks very tiny and with lots of bends,,not what you want on a return. Cheers Frosti.

Hi Frosti,
the turbo is oil cooled, the oil is pumped around via an electric pump, the tank is custom built and fits in front of the engine, you can just about see it on a few photo's, the return is virtually all down hill, so no oil "pooling" in the turbo, plus there is a breather on the oil circuit
It works very well keeping the turbo well oiled, if anything maybe a tad too much, but that should be resolved in the next set of mods/changes I've got to make
I'll be doing more updates in the coming weeks as and when I get going on the next set of mods/updates
