Lol,not had a bike yet,but had whole host of other stuff including an aircraft wing with bullet holes in it (that we had to cut free and I was absolutely gutted) And we had what we thought was a lawnmower (30miles off the Isles Of Scilly) that turned out to be one of those deck polishing machines that they use on cruise ships. I've got several pieces of ship wreckage in my garden. It's amazing what comes up.

Wow that's in a state, brave man to start this resto, but I've seen your work, will be a stunner when it's finished I'm sure. What sort of rest you doing, rideable or a mint/concourse job, gonna cost a few £££'s but I'm sure you knew that already Purchase price I hope will offset this Bodywork should be mint at this mileage, but what I don't understand is, after such low mileage, fixing bolts and wheel colour have been changed already? (I do realise the age of the bike, but it's not been ridden for a week or two)

Thats a nice find Colin, should keep you busy for a while. Has it got rear sets on it? the gear lever looks long. Best start saving the coins again, you're going to need a shed load, be nice when you finish it I'm sure.

Quality find mate this should be a good thread. How severe is the rust on the frame it looks pretty ropey near the gear lever

My God that's one rusty POS! But I'm sure it'll turn out allright. It's amazing what you can do with bikes like this if you just put some cash to it. I've seen a 350 YPVS in a similar condition turning into a mint bike, someone on this forum I think.

When I had my original 350LC in 81-83 I couldn't afford anything else and, quite frankly, didn't want anything else. Then a rumour came out that Yam were bringing out an RD500LC, V4. Then it actually came out and I was gobsmacked. I really, really wanted one and dreamt about having one. How can anyone allow this to happen to my former dream bike? They need to be found, hung, drawn and quartered! Right, rant over! I'm jealous at the thought of this being a minter in the future, which it no doubt will be. Good luck with the restoration that it deserves. Keep us posted with pics on how it's going.
