because im not very orginised, i would send an order off thinking i will have everything i need to finish a stage so i can move to the next bit, then find i overlooked one little bit and have to wait another 2 or 3 weeks for it,another thing that happened a couple of times i would wreck something and well another 2 or3 weeks, when the parts turns up ,its on in a matter of minutes and then its more waiting, the next one will be much easier because i know what to expect and have learnt so much, one other thing,my bike had parts from later a model that i only picked up when they wouldnt fit when i tried to use them with lc bits

pulled the motor apart tonight and the 1st gudgen pin clip i removed dematerialed right before my very eyes and i bent another so i suppose i will have to wait another 2-3 weeks for them new ones to turn up, such is life, by the way im glad i had to pull it apart because 1 oil seal was in wrong, and 1 was missing altogether, and a couple of screws were lose, bugger me, if i had of got it going like it was i reckon its life expectancy would have been short....thanks fellas

fhanks norbo, i polished the carb bowls ages ago but now they let the carbies down , i will take them off and do them [properly but having said thatthey look better in the hand, for some reason all my photos do is highlight faults.

Thats looking brilliant Ken, taking shape nicely.
Might be worth getting the bike parts in more light and photographing without a flash, I had the same problem with poor shots until I did this.

gday lb, sorry cant help you with a tank, i got a spare a couple of months ago and when i put a bit of weight into undoing the fuel tap the bottom caved in , it happens, finally got the bike finished, but i couldnt start it, didnt seen like it was getting any spark, , leaking head gasket, one carby leaking, but that was just a lose bowl drain screw, when set the air mixture screws i forgot to wind them out 11/2 turns, it was getting dark so i brought it in ,drained the rad tank and will check a few things tomorrow, any ideas on the leaking head gasket? its a yam one so i may need some sealant, any advice on how much sealant and where would be much appeciated, at least my young fella said it looks good, lol

take the head off then cover the head gasket with vasoline both sides ,refit head gasket then when you start it up again and warm it up it will fry its self together and the seal will be superb!

well i got it to idle today, and went for a ride, the clutch is too heavy to be comfortable over any longer period of time, it has a rattle from the front end i think which disappers over 2 thou, feels like the barrells are fighting each other,, any thoughts on that welcome, gears change smooth but nuetral hard to find when engine running, easy when turned off, cant wait to take it into the higher rev range but for now am content to try and sort out the little bugs, once again , any suggestions / thoughts welcome. ken

hi, i did the carby balancing with the lolly pop method, was surprised how easy it was after i got the sticks the right length, will recheck timing and play with carbies, will pull the clutch cover when my new springs turn up, going to put heavier oil in the gear box as per arrows suggestion, fingers crossed
