thanks folks, a few things to do before i start on the motor, i need to sort out my seat,i got a guiliano seatcover sent over here but have decided to stick to the original now,so that will come up for sale, just need an original cover, and am looking for an undamaged set of original exhaust pipes that need painting, everytime a good set come up on ebay i get outbidded,i have untill december to get them as a contact will be coming home to australia and can put them in his container for me. an interesting thing ,when i got the paintwork back, the brand new genuine front mudgaurd wouldnt fit, i put a 100/90x18 on it thinking it was right because thats what it had on it,anyway will have to put a 90/90x18 on it ,hopefully i can come to some arrangement with who i got it from, but it was my mistake and secondly i got a new aftermarket sidecover and when it got painted it was put in a booth and went out of shape from the heat, anyway went back to the painter and he said try a hair dryer but if you want bring it back and he would have a go,anyway after about an hour or so it came back to the proper shape so i was happy with that,,one last thing,if anybody can point me in the right direction for some good pippes id be interested, no dents or rash /scratches etc, see yas later, ken. PS now that its looking like a bike again,im spending a lot of time just looking at it, you have to admit they are good looking bikes.

Very smart mate. I hope you have good life insurance running the old single pot brakes as I recon the brakes on most push bikes are more efective :-(

im thinking the braided lines should provide a bit of extra stopping, down the track if i feel like ive got a deathwish on my head i will have to get something better, any suggestions for something that would bolt straight on?

gday, done the seat,i should have added a thin layer of foam on the seat where ya backside goes, we live and learn, got the grab rail and handle chromework back, a bit disapointed with the grab rail but will do for now, will slow down a bit now as we will be looking for a new house to live in as they are selling this one, such is life,

Looking really nice Ken! At least when you move house you have a roller to shift, much simpler than bikes in bits of course...
Whats up with the chrome? im sure someone will have a better one if you arent happy with it. I satin black powdered mine, but then thats look suited my bike and i know youre not going the way i am.

gday jon, on the grabrail where the bolts go, the chrome was put on before it was smoothed out enough, anyway will do for now.maybe im being a bit fussy, i looked at some really nice restored nortons on the week end and i have to admit some of the chrome work left abit to be desired if you really looked into it and not at it, , mine looks great from 6 foot, a couple of people didnt even see what i was talking about when they looked at mine,i probably am too fussy,

Fussy is good Ken, but yeah i know what you mean, sometimes you have to accept that your standards are higher than the guys who did the work i guess.

Hi Ken, I put my calipers and barrels etc in the barbeque at about 150-180 degrees for over an hour. Then left them to cool overnight. Came up fine. I didnt like the matt black though. I found a satin black by VHT. I'm just retaping up the barrels to redo them.

Hi Ken, Was the grab rail originally chromed?? I'm up to that point of getting the rail re-done and I may have to throw in the grab rail if that is the case. My crank has been freshened up with new bearings etc and I will put it back together hopefully next week. I'm a bit consumed with getting back into work at present. But the bike is not going anywhere. cheers

hi there, yeah my grabrail was chromed when i got it and the centre stand lifter was aswell, my build is slowing down aswell, will put in an order with norbo hopefully early next week and then it purely down to getting inside the motor right and painting the cases, my exhaust pipes should be arriving in australia in 2 or 3 weeks so i can see an ending to this, here it is as it stands, not a lot of progress but i like putting photos of it up when ever i think i can get away with it, see ya

ive never really noticed it before but it does look a fair bit lower than normal, down the track im getting my guilliano seat cover fitted,i talked myself into thinking stock looked better but watching the other bikes with them has converted me,and i like the yamaha logo on the back, finally connected up battery and after a couple of hours of messing around, making cables longer and figureing out things, im happy to say all lights work and brake light aswell, the only light not working is the speedo, but im 99% sure its the bulb, see ya
