gday again at last my rebuild has started,i know there are plenty of these going on at the moment so heres another one, anyway i got the frame , swinger, rear subframe and a few other parts back from the powdercoaters and was very happy to be able to start putting it back together,it will be a slow job but i resigned myself to that and am happy with it. anyway heres a photo and whenever it looks like it has had a few things done to it i will put up a new photo,it is going to be stock with the white paint and blue stickers, seeya

Well you have made a good start and the powder coat looks like a good job.

gday norbo, i would love one of those up and down lifters but for now the one height does all will have to do, on a serious note, the bikes i see on this site that have been lovingly restored are just incredible and knowing what the end result can look like makes you want to be able to have something of the same caliber. This site sure makes it a lot easier to achieve that end result, cheers

gday, well i just finished the wheels, they were an ugly white(house paint) id say with runs and all that, got them sand blasted then painted them up, as anybody who has done this there was a lot of work doing this but am happy with result, the paint was more glossier than stock but i like it.

Looking real nice, I think the tie bars are the wrong way round (or at least the brackets) as I don't think you will be able to get the bolts out if needed, heads should be on the inside, as far as I know??? doesn't really matter though.

gday again, well finally put new springs in today, wow what a learning curve, they were about 40mm longer than the top of the stanchon and couldnt get them in and the plug seated and the lock ring in on my own, found a long lost sash clamp and mucked around till i finally figured it out, the first side took over 2 hours , very frustrating but the 2nd one only took 5 minutes to do,didnt put in a spacer, wouldnt have been able to with my skill level but they feel good when you compress them, see ya i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz63/kennymick65/003-15.jpgi814.photobucket.com/albums/zz63/kennymick65/006-8.jpg

Ken, some times these things take longer than expected and can be fairly frustrating, the main thing is to keep going and finish it.
Good luck Grant

funny old game this restoration business,am loving every minute of it,there is a lot more to it i think than just buying bits and putting them on . searching/finding bits, getting the best price, where to compramise on bits so you can come back to them later,i think learning the process is big, the order of buying things, what you can and cant refurbish, etc, the list goes on, i only wish i had started doing this much younger, not that im that old, thanks for the well wishes

Bikes looking great. 1st restore is always a big learning curve and can sometimes be painfull but it's still great fun and the bit I enjoy the most. The 1st restore is also great at helping you with 2nd restore as you have gained so much knowledge from the 1st. Just wish the learning curve did not cost so much

yeah andy im happy with it, converting it to your curruncy it came in at about 425 pounds, from what ive read thats about what you pay over there i think,so that would mean its a fair price for over here. i hope
