Had 2 issues, 1st being 1 bolt for handlebars, all was going well, suddenly the bolt got stuck, only a turn or 2 left till tight, tried to get it back out, no joy, had to drill it out, rather than use helicoil or time seat, I opted for a longer bolt, turned out that some powder coat was able to get in the threads from behind that I didn't see. Next was the rear hangers, the threads were gone in the frame mounts, seeing only about 3 or 4mm to have thread anyway, I opted for longer titanium bolts with titanium nuts on the back, rather than helicoil or time sert again, not keen on either if other options are available as above.

Only just discovered this thread - very nice work Tony. Brave man taking on the oil pump refurb!
What master cylinder are you intending to use with that caliper, out of interest?

Only just discovered this thread - very nice work Tony. Brave man taking on the oil pump refurb! What master cylinder are you intending to use with that caliper, out of interest? Thanks Dave People are unduly scared of the oil pump, very simple mechanical item, as with anything mechanical, you are looking for excessive ware on any of the components, just the same as anything mechanical. Just look at the rebuild to see how easy it is, and what to expect. But remember, there is always Arrow, if you are not confident in your own ability, I have total confidence in my work, and I have done it before. As long as what you have is in good condition, then it's a simple job, otherwise you may need spare parts, and where are you going to get those from, unless you have spares like me and Arrow do. As for the master cylinder, I have rebuilt the 250 one, I will see how that goes 1st.
