Pics aren't the best, taken on a tablet, seems to distort the pictures, clocks look better in real life, as does the wheel..

Amazing what can be done on a tight budget. Nice one butt. Alex As you know Alex, some things you have to pay handsomely for, but with some creative searching it's amazing what you can find at reasonable prices, and some good luck now and then helps too.

Today, I stripped the calliper, cleaned, painted with pj1, then baked it in the oven for 30 minutes, fitted new seals, and reassembled it, another piece of the puzzle completed. Wow! good old PJ1, with all the ceramic and Powdercoat out there this still looks very very good

I agree Charles, this looks great.
FWIW I paint my calipers with VHT's Caliper paint as its easily redone if you need to.

I am lucky enough to have 3 1/2 cans of 20 odd year old PJ1 from the days when it was good, you can tell by the colour, black rather than the grayish colour of the newer useless stuff they sell now, I bought a load of paint while it was still available, 36 cans of Carplan black, 24 cans white, got 4 cans of white left and still have 24 black, they don't make paint like that anymore, and once it's all gone I don't know what I am going to use.

Today I rebuilt my 350 oil pump, luckily I had a good pump to start with, very little sign of wear, the internals are like new. Stripped and ultrasonic cleaned gaskets needed These bits need to be in good condition I have been lucky to get a pump that has little to no signs of wear

New seals in I use the old seal to help install the new one same with the larger one MAKE SURE SEAL IS FITTED AS PICTURED BELOW then the pin, wavey washer and the flat washer go on the pump cam, I have modified the the pump cam but have promised not to give the information given to anyone else sorry, but I am sure he would tell you if you asked anyway. then put it in the pump body with the gear wheel, note the position of the slot and the way round the gear wheel sits next washer goes on the plunger spring next BELOW IS THE CORRECT WAY ROUND TO FIT THE SEAL, make sure you get this right and don't dish the seal, I find using the old seal is the best way.

i put a nut as a spacer and then the larger flat washer to hold the plunger in the body, so it doesn't spring back out during assembly, possibly damaging the seal, just a belt and braces approach, but better to be safe than sorry. Then put the plunger assembly into the pump main body. once screwed together, you can remove the spacer (nut) then the spring and pulley put on the shims then the flat washer, spring washer and nut then the tinny bolt that holds the pulley in place Set at 10 thou

The RHT paint seems good, I've used the satin black on MT2's pipes and it goes on well, covers nicely and has a great finish. A mate's used the gloss version and that's good too. For engine cases I use the Hycote Engine Enamel which is still great and for regular aerosol paint, my favourite is UPOL. I tend to buy half a dozen of each at a time hoping to buy some time for when, inevitably, a batch of "improved" stuff comes through. PJ1 Fast Black was always my favourite, shame they improved that to beyond the point of usefulness.

Done a bit more had to make my own sub loom for the clocks, didn't have a 4 pot so cut down a 6 pot to make a 4 wire connector, works well. It became clear straight away where to fit the signal receiver. I can't get a good picture of the clocks when lit up I can't quite believe I am getting a signal inside my house and my headlight
